>gymbros do 1rm deadlifts and then complain they don't promote growth as if any lift done for heavy singles only would
I stopped doing 1rm deadlifts and switched to 3x10 and saw my ass, hammies, traps, and even forearms and lats grow after a few months.
anon, when I can comfortably do a weight at 3x10 I then add 10lbs for the first set which at that point I can usually handle, then reduce the weight to the norm for the other sets. Once I adapt to 10lbs heavier on one set I then do the same for the next set, and etc.
For deadlift it's grip that is the limiting factor to progress though more than anything else. I consider using straps but also now I don't wanna lose my grip gains which have also helped beef my forearms a bit.
>Mark didn’t seem to like training in any way other than one way. He stuck with his particular, peculiar style of training for the six years I was his training partner. In a nutshell, twice a week he would have a mini-powerlifting competition. Mark would work up to a single, all out repetition in each of the three lifts wearing all his power gear. That was it. Monday at 4pm was squat and bench press day. Thursday at 4pm was deadlift day. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times over the years I saw him do any lift or exercise other than the three powerlifts.
with roids ya. This was the entire principle of how the bulgarian weightlifters used to train. Of course the snatch and the clean and jerk are much more techincal, so they got more out of the pratice. But they would only hit heavy singles of snatch, clean and jerk, and front squat (sometimes) and that was their training. Also a bunch of roids and top tier genetics. They were the best.
Without roids too. Every program high rep or low rep works better with roids that's a given.

you can't recover without roids to do max effort lifts multiple times a day. the training program was impossible without roids.
I'm natty. Heavy singles on deadlifts. 3-5 reps for heavy squats atg. I have massive glutes. Just do the lifts correctly and lift heavy. Your muscles will grow. Simple as
nice blog. i wasn't looking for advice.

I guess we are talking about different things. Is was responding to the guy thay said you need 3x10 deadlifts for growth and I was arguing that you can grow with heavy singles. He used 1rm but i thought he meant heavy singles also I'm not exactly doing 210kg clean and jerks so it's a different level

>you can grow with heavy singles.
it's not optimal, but 3x10 is even less optimal.
I don't know why anyone would do anything but a set of 5 for deadlifts until they are advanced deadlifters.

It's called a counter example. Do whatever you want. I was refuting your misconception that you need roids for muscle growth from heavy singles. It's simply wrong and you're a coper.

You don't peg your gf, dumbass. You frick her pussy. Though once she had me wear a strap-on to DP her. It was awkward to get to work, and couldn't do fast thrusting due to balancing two phalluses in her.
doubt.
Not my problem. I could have added I do heavy squats 3-5 rep range atg which I'm sure helps also.
wrong, you are better off to do 1rm DL and do accessory work because regular deadlifts have bad stimulus to fatigue ratio
i'd rather go higher volume on RDL + reverse hypers/hyperextensions and maybe some hamstring curls
i mean just ask yourself, after doing high volume, med intensity deadlifts your CNS is borderline fried and you just started your workout in most cases
I did deadlifts to failure with about 75% rm for several sets. The reps would look like 10-12, 9-10, 5-6, 3-4, with approx. 4 plate. It's definitely doable. Sucks, but doable.
And afterwards I would do snatch grip or stiff legged deadlifts. And I didn't feel fried or tired on those. In fact they felt easy, compared to deadlifts.
>not just 1RM'ing your deadlifts for a couple of months so you skyrocket to 5 plate and then start doing your reps with 4 plate
meanwhile, the DYELS who have always done 3x10 reps from the start are probably still stuck somwhere between repping 2-3 plates
you do 1-4 reps from the floor pumping the weight, good form and setup but as violently as possible, slam dunk eccentrics are mandatory
then 6-10 with RDL's after or on another day
this is the way
I've only ever done 1 working set of deadlifts once per week and it's still proportionally m strongest lift. My back and hamstrings are the only parts of me that respond well to weight training lol.
Why is it red then?

This right here. The day you stop ego lifting is the day you defeat your body dysmorphia
but how else do u progressively overload if you don't ego lift a little bit.
This

But muh 4pl8 dl at 150lbs bw
Deadlifting more than 2.5x your bodyweight is moronic and pointless.

makes sense to be honest. if you solely wanted to increase the big three. then you should only be practicing those three movements day in and day out.
Yeah, and heavy singles definitely promote growth

I do almost exclusively 1rm deadlifts and have the fattest ass. Cope.
I'm sure your boyfriend loves that.
I'm single atm, but all of my ex-girlfriends loved it.
I'm sure it made pegging you all the more enjoyable for them.

Absolutely hilarious that some think deadlift builds lats. Whats next? Bench press for hamstrings? Pull ups for triceps
moron

it made all my pants tight
digits and cado forces you to eat his prolapsed shit smeared greasy butthole
Helps me with the weekly water bottle bulk pickup actually.
should've done romanian deadlifts
It totally fries my CNS dude
I did 3x5 for the first time doing 100/120/140, much better than doing 2 questionable reps with 160 right?
