>Power >Jerk
As far as a "complete" exercise goes, full clean + press does the most. Jerk only is advantageous for getting up more weight and for stability gains.
This is my issue. I OHP 65lb dumbbells deadlifting those from the ground into position is all the deadlift I need frick that gay lift just do rows for back and you’re golden
>ignores that the dimorphism between men and women is disproportionately in the upper body, meaning upper body strength is literally what makes you a man, and is what women and nature have selected for in our species
you're right, who needs arms anyway
75%+ of your muscle mass is found in the legs, hips, and back. This is where literally all of your strength comes from, not from your biceps and triceps. Obviously there's nothing wrong with training your arms and shit, but you should not neglect the legs/hips/back since that is where you will be putting on most of your muscle.

you're wrong moron, this is not only widely accepted as a scientific fact (see picrel) but is also just common sense and clearly observable if you've ever seen a man and a woman before

Dope I'm going to tell this to all the transmen out there that they only need to hit upper body every day instead of hopping on HRT
Conversely could a transwoman just train legs then to transition since those are feminine muscles?

who said those are feminine muscles? the study I posted says men's legs are over 50% stronger than a woman's legs. I swear the average IQ on this board is about the same as in india... oh wait

I’m a fatass just getting started. Having a hard time getting enough reps in doing both squats and deadlifts. Have been doing 10x5 benches and 10x5 deadlifts. Do squats hit a lot of different muscles that deadlifts miss?
find me a single example where someone has put the reps first ... wait did you really think 3x10 meant 10 sets of triples hahahaha you're so fricking stupid, I'm picturing you doing 8-12 sets of 3s and 4s for all your isolation exercises because "your program told you to" hahaha fricking moronic frick

I can't tell if you are moronic...because i'll feel bad if you have a learning disability.
Now let's work this out together. Which number comes first in your example. 3, or 10?
Did you say 3? Good job bud.
Now what did I say? "Reps come first"
Now...does the 3 come before the ten?
You're doing great.
Did you say yes? Great great work bud.
That mean that 3 is the reps, and 10 is the sets.

Learn to brace, learn how to hip hinge, and train your abs. If you're that scared then spam back extensions/jefferson curls/seated good mornings as a preventative measure
well first off SS is the biggest meme of all time. Drop that shit program, I cannot guide you but just know you don't need to start with starting strength.

>Ask the millions of fallen deadlifting soldiers.
Yeah egolifting gets you injured, no shit. Doesn't mean the exercise itself is bad, and again, if you're that terrified of the lift then you can simply take preventative measures to reduce the risk even further. I don't even know why this argument exists considering the fact that tons of people who *don't* deadlift (or do any physical activity at all) get back injuries, but no one mentions that for some reason.
Who looks better, the guy who deadlifts 600 or the guy who "isolates"
Goodness gracious we solved this discussion years ago. IST used to actually understand lifting. I think this is an example of the society wide decline in intelligence and competence.
>learn how to deadlift >up to 2pl8 >back feels funny after finishing >ask an expert to watch my form >he says its good >ask a mate later if deadlifts hurt when you start doing them even if you're doing them right >he said it took a year for deadlifts to stop hurting
Can I speedrun where my discs get used to the pain or no?
Ignore IST.
Look at all of the material and guidance, text and video, from Starting Strength.
Follow the 5 step setup.
Really pull the bar before you even lift the weight.
Stop nocebo’ing yourself.
You are not as fragile as you think.
Many times back sensations can just be some fatigue, it’s not serious, you won’t snap, you’ve been conditioned into thinking back discomfort = physical injury. It’s just not true. As soon as I realised this, I made so much progress.
>be expert deadlifting 6pl8s at gym >some dyel homosexual is deadlifting 2pl8s >thinks he's hot shit >asked me if his form is good >it's clearly garbage and he's ego lifting >tell him it's all good brah >notmyproblem.png >wait until he gets injured
conventional deadlifts are the only lifts I ever seen God while doing. Max squat or max press/ohp doesn't get me close. I can see why people dedicate themselves to this one movement.
Isn't a power clean and jerk?
You heard it from me first folks. OP is certifiably a homosexual.
What a horrible post, that actually hurt to read. Frick you.

If you don't think the muscles that produce all of the power in your body 'matter', you are a an undiagnosed moron.

Here's your vanity muscles bro. Girls want those thicc arms
I’m a fatass just getting started. Having a hard time getting enough reps in doing both squats and deadlifts. Have been doing 10x5 benches and 10x5 deadlifts. Do squats hit a lot of different muscles that deadlifts miss?
Deadlifts don't hit the quads and adductors (which make up most of your leg) anywhere near as much as squats do, so yeah they do
>deadlifts dont hit the quads and adductors
yeah they do
Never said they didn't, but objectively they don't hit them anywhere near as hard as squats
And no exercise hits your mom's ass as hard as my hand.
Why would you do high rep deadlifts?
>5 reps is "high reps"
do powerlards really
reps are listed first......dumb ass

Just takes one bad lift to frick your back forever. Ask the millions of fallen deadlifting soldiers.
It's an extremely unsafe lift and if you are competing there are far better options
aren't
What do you recommend instead of deadlifting? I’m only doing bench, squats, and deadlifts.
well first off SS is the biggest meme of all time. Drop that shit program, I cannot guide you but just know you don't need to start with starting strength.

and that's why it's shit
More muscles worked = less work done on individual muscles
It's more than made up for by "more weight lifted"
It's not. You're better off isolating
Who looks better, the guy who deadlifts 600 or the guy who "isolates"
Goodness gracious we solved this discussion years ago. IST used to actually understand lifting. I think this is an example of the society wide decline in intelligence and competence.
Then why does every bodybuilder and powershitter and you know anyone who isn't a dyel do them?
>gives you facet joint arthritis
What is a good exercise program to follow to lose weight and get stronger from basically no strength. I’m doing 5x10 65 pounds as my bench currently.

Deadlifts have literally never hurt for me and shouldn't hurt
People tend to egolift with deadlifts, leading to injury. So long as you don't egolift, all should be well.
>be expert deadlifting 6pl8s at gym
>some dyel homosexual is deadlifting 2pl8s
>thinks he's hot shit

>communicating with the axioms of the universe is 'disturbing'
sure, but not really
okay then show me your routine. there better not be anything else
