Just been looking into creatine. Everything I've read/watched says to take it anytime during the day, every day. And it'll take a few weeks before it takes effect.

I haven't started taking it yet, but I know 2 guys who are really into working out and exercise in general who strongly recommend it. Apparently creatine is naturally made by your body and is stored in your muscles. Your body turns it into energy whenever you start doing something strenuous. When you take a creatine supplement, it will get added to your muscles so they will contain more than usual. Basically you will have more energy when you work out, although I'm not sure if that means you can lift heavier weights, or do more sets, or do more reps, etc. Also the one guys I know said to only buy the container that says "Ingredients: creatine monohydrate" and nothing else, no other ingredients.

My friend who works works at a supplement stores says that creatine will primarily increase your water retention, and would count toward increasing your skeletal muscle mass as opposed to dry lean mass. He said when you take it does not matter, but take it consistently each day. You can take it consistently for about 3 months, but then it would be a good idea to give your body a period of time without it, say 2 to 4 weeks before starting again. Rinse and repeat if you like the results you see.
