Yes, few people actually know that. The ends of the bar need to face towards the poles. If they are alligned with the equator the benefits of the lift are zero.
>You've never had to lift anything over your head?
irl? maybe putting a packed suitcase in the stowage bin on an airplane but those max out at like 30lb. only blue collar wagies get more opportunities but they're still rare
This mentality is what gave me shoulder impingement, rotator cuff problems and upper back, trap and neck issues. >you need to achieve 1/2/3/4 at all costs!!!! >if you don't do compounds you're not a real man
Frick these dumb exercises that require perfect form, I'll just do dumbbell variations and never deadlift again.
Sounds like you were too moronic to do the lift properly and egolifted yourself to snapcity. I'm also betting 10 bucks you didn't clean it before hand, so you weren't able to gauge how much you can actually lift.
A shame, but what are you gonna do about it.
u got impingement from trying to press 1pl8 over ur head? You can litearlly hit 1pl8 ohp in about a year or more of training. Obvious your shoulder mobility was shit and now your coping, u shud have trained your shoulder mobility better. Imagine how fked your shoulders are if the simple motion of raising your arms over your head causes impingement.
How the frick did you frick up you're trap I've heard of zero people hurting their traps. You must have been doing something really moronic, traps are pretty much indestructible.
People are gonna seethe at this post but it’s correct. I haven’t visited this board much in years and I’m disappointed to see it hasn’t evolved much past the rippetoe-influenced autism that dominated fitness forums like fifteen years ago.
>moron does age-old lift poorly and gets hurt >spergs out and says it's dangerous >insists that Mark Rippetoe is the only person who suggests doing OHP
dyels like yourself need to kys and not give out any fitness advice.
it isnt, the 4 is, i was deadlifting 3pl8 a few weeks into lifting as a 60kg 5'6 shortking
i dont squat so i dont know how hard it is but it probably goes like this in terms of easiest to hardest >4 >3 >1 >2
>It's fun
>does everything
So it's all about the angle or am I missing something?
i hope you're being sarcastic

Well yea just holding the bar isnt gonna activate the muscle fibers properly
it gives me a boner
2/10 post. You've never had to lift anything over your head?
I hate pressing, but I do it because im not a fricking fool.
Post body
Inb4 you don't

but you bench press right? When do you have to push something while lying down you dumb Black person?
when I'm sliding my wiener sleeve (wife) up and down my throbbing shaft

I mean 60kg OHP is not even that impressive and if that low weight fricked your shit you're just frail as frick
Just do overhead shrugs after OHP'ing homosexual. Girls can OHP more than you without getting injured.
>Girls can OHP more than you
hot

heavy deadlifts and ohping with not 100% perfect form will definitely frick up ur traps and neck

1 is the easiest part of 1/2/3/4
it isnt, the 4 is, i was deadlifting 3pl8 a few weeks into lifting as a 60kg 5'6 shortking

Maybe lifting isn't your thing
by God's grace he detranzitioned
I do this and people think that I'm not natty
Are you natty?
no
Compresses the shit out of your spine though
this homie is just mad he can't even bench 1 pl8. weak delts lookin ass
I have 23 inch wide shoulders.
>can OHP 225
>gymcel thinks this is impressive
lol. lmao. Mogged by chad genetics
23 is extremely wide you tard
No it's not you pie
Average is around 18", you're probably measuring wrong if you think elsewise like all those skinny gays on looksmax with 18" bideltoid larping as 20+
>can OHP 225
Based. How long did it take you to get from ~135 to 225? Height and weight?
strict presses are fun
what's a good video on perfect OHP form?
>perfect form
>No pause reps
>Shaking like hell
>Heels lifting off the ground
>Wearing pants
completely mogged you
>that guy who does push press next to you while you're OHPing and he looks over smugly as if he's actually mogging you
155lb ohp. I like it, but have pinched neck muscles before when I made the mistake of regaining my breath/brace at the top.
how do these compare to side raises?
what's the general consensus on hand placement on the bar with OHP? hands just next to your shoulders?
Yes, as narrow as possible. The wider the grip, the wider the moment arm and harder the lift.
I can never be brave enough to do these. Like if my hand fricking slips or I pass out, the bar is gonna fall straight on my neck or head.
gotta train it so when time comes you can ohp b***hes
>everyone says seated OHP is easier
>do it
>it's way harder
You are supposed to press your back against the seat to generate maximum force. Seated OHP is harder if you don't do that.
>100% superior lift coming through
post body
If you can't OHP 1pl8, you're a weak homosexual. Even if you don't like overhead pressing, you should at least be capable of doing it. Simple as.
>does nazing
lifts required to spawn clones like pic rel?
OHPing right now feels good
