Idk
>do anabolic steroids build muscle?
It’s a common misconception that oly lifters have muscle strength. They’re actually training flexibility and technique; in terms of strength they have no more muscle mass than the average non-lifter (assuming they don’t do other exercises)
Uh oh...Which one do I upvote???
the lifts themselves, not really. pretty much just erectors and traps/upper back and nothing else. it doesn't even really give you jacked legs on it's own either. most elite lifters have huge quads because they have enormous squats but sometimes you see elite lifters who haven't front squatted much more than their best clean and jerk, or sometimes even have the same fs as their c&j, and they will always have small legs as well. it's the accessory lifts that make them jacked.
you are moronic.
Weightlifting training features a ton of squatting, pulling, pressing, rowing, and other isolation/accessories like any other athletic strength training program, of course you build muscle from it
Uuuhhh u tell me
No, You are not going to build significant mass lifting every 4 years, regardless of your diet.
Well I have seen a few modern crossfitters and I think yes, multi-repetitive speed strength exercises do cause pump and eventually hypertrophy.
crossfit is a LOT more than olympic lifts.
So is Olympic lifting lol
We're not just doing snatch and c&j 100% of the time, it's mostly strength training because it turns out you actually have to be strong to explosively accelerate heavy weights over your head
>We're
kek
I train at a dedicated WL gym with a senior international level coach, I compete several times a year, I would think I qualify as a weightlifter
post body w/ timestamp
>post body
why would I ever do that on IST
then shut the frick up about how your winning competitions or whatever. I own SpaceX but don't go around bragging about that on IST.
I'm not that guy my dude
if you are talking about me ill happily post body. Im the moron that won nationals
Speak for you self. I only train snatch, clean and jerk and squat. 90-100% 6 days a week.
I train at a dedicated WL gym with an east bloc coach that coached USSR records, I win several competitions a year (including my country's national championship) I would think I qualify as a weightlifter
stay at your 3 singles @85% fgt
Seems like a good way to develop some serious joint issues but if it works for you it works for you
>3 singles @ 85%
No idea what you're talking about, 85% is like 4-5 doubles / 8-10 singles territory for classic lifts
I train "Bulgarian" in periods Up to nationals and other major comps. rest of the time I just take the piss and relax mostly. Do higher reps squats, some pull ups etc, work on technique. but I still try to keep a high level of readiness. I have some joint problems but only due to being born with a problematic hip.
I do strength training. Lots of squats. Makes my legs strong and my back kinda strong. My back is already very strong. quads are a weak point so I mostly just squat. Doping does work, especially when training a system simular to the original Bulgarian with multiple sessions a day.
This kind of training only works for athletes on gear, natty lifters can't lean on drugs to keep them strong & grow muscle so they have to spend time strength training
>crosshitters aren't roiding too
Are you sure about that? Average crosshitter is a dyel.
Im decently jacked only doing snatch, clean and jerk, and squats for 95% of my training.
85~ kg Bw 12% bf 185~ cm.
Primarily back, delts, legs and traps get big since they are the muscles worked the most. Arms and chest are a weak point since I don't really train them
I'm inbetween major meets right now and my coach has me doing a lot of upper body/direct arm work and man I haven't been this sore in my arms in years
I only have OHP and Push press as other lifts lol. My coach is ex-soviet so its pretty basic with the lifts I do
This is how I typically trained but now I am benching once a week and doing a ton of rows/curls/tricep extensions/etc in place of some classic lift volume.
when i was training, i added dips 3x a week
mostly because i was drooling watching team china
they take a lot of gear, so yes
niga just do whatever you find more fun. I find bodybuilding more fun than olympic lifting. Both will build muscle, although I think bodybuilding builds more muscle. You can't look at high level olympic athletes cause there all on PED's, its like comparing against ppl who compete at Olympia. You gotta look at the natty's of both sports.
weightlifting specific training doesn't build much muscle at all
weightlifters on gear have better delts than natural bodybuilders, it was always just the gear that gives a massive boost in baseline muscle
if the olympic lifts are the heaviest lifts you do (for some bizarre reason), sure
the guys who do it at my gym are dyel asians and one dyel white guy
The short answer is "of course it builds muscle."
The long answer is that it will only build appreciable amounts of visually appealing muscle if your body is well suited to this type of lower volume lifting and youre able to eat enough to suppoort traing and muscular growth while maintaing body fat levels low enough to bhsow off the gains.
Part of the longer answer is that most people will get better results from traiing like a powerlifter, and doing reps in the more traditional 4-8 rep range, rarely messing around with heavy singles and doubles other than for fun.
A big part of the answer is that very few people who build a large msucular physique with bodybuilding or powerlifting methodolgies start doing Olympic weightlifting traing to maintain it. Likewise, Olynpic lifters do higher rep bodoybuilding/powerlfiting "assistance exercises" to balance out lagging bodyparts.
