Does overly loud alarms every morning pose a risk for health.
I wake up to a booming alarm everyday, and for several minutes afterwards my heart beats real hard. I'm starting to think it might not be healthy. Sometimes, it even triggers my tinnitus. Should I continue doing this?

I switched my alarm to a gradual fade from quiet to loud and it's been great. I've heard a light alarm is even better but I've never tried it, I tend to sleep through light until it's daylight outside

idk how a light alarm works, does that alarm work on the basis of daylight?

I haven't woken up to an alarm in years. Just go to sleep at the same time every day and spare yourself this trouble

I wake up to a simulated police siren and have a gun with blanks shoot into the air from an abandoned crack house nearby for those adrenaline gains

This happened to me for years. Just go to bed earlier until you get to the point where you're basically awake before the alarm goes off.

What do you need an alarm for? Sunrise wakes me up every morning because it's too bright to sleep.
And when I need to get even earlier and set up an alarm, I always go to bed with the thought to wake up at specific hour and I always do wake up around 10 minutes before.
Alarms are useless. Just think about waking up early and you will.

I literally just woke up to my fire alarm going off. I was naked in bed and there was a man in my house testing my fire alarm. The landlord gave them keys to come in. I'm sitting here like what the frick right now

If you lease a house in USA you have the legal right to change your locks and should (or become a victim or your serial killer landlord)

Play this at medium volume. Few minutes in you will wake up thinking you've got a train to catch

Your cortisol, the stress hormone, skyrockets when you're woken up abruptly. You go into fight-or-flight mode. It's a survival mechanism from way back when we had to worry about predators showing up at night.

Of course this is not good for you in the long run. So use an alarm that wakes you up gradually with increasing intensity. Sound works fine but those wake-up lamps are the best since they mimic the rising sun

If I have an annoying alarm I'll just shut it off immediately and fall back asleep.
Instead I tied it to spotify and it plays a random song from an album I like. I just lay there and listen to the whole thing before I turn it off so that I have a chance to actually become concious.

I have an alarm which makes me take a picture of a specific spot to turn it off. It did wonders for me. I take a picture of the bathroom sink because once I get out of bed, the sleep slowly leaves me
