And do hanging leg raises religiously

The problem with deadlifts is that you only train your back static. Imagine building your bicep with just flexing your arm.
You need to train your back with full rom so you can train all the muscles (there are tons of muscles above muscles in your back) and all the tissue in your spine (ligaments, spinal discs) so they adapt to the load.
Look this (30 sec video): https://youtube.com/shorts/DYj2XuOIdDI?feature=share

Much prefer reverse hyperextensions over GHD back extension. Setting up a bar with the GHD is awkward and it works the hamstrings more in my experience.

You can also initiate the movement with your back during hyperextensions

Yeah but the issue is I have never seen a gym with a reverse hyper.
Did back extensions purposefully rounding my lumbar at the bottom in the glute ham raise apparatus so you're parallel at the top, but hard to progress it past bear hugging plates for extra weight.
Nowadays I get by with RDLs and barbell rows alone

Hugging a sandbag or one of those crossfit balls is superior to using a bar. On top of feeling better and being easier you can just drop it and do extra reps once the set is done.

Whats the difference between this and good mornings? Are they better?

the regular flat one is better for loading a barbell btn. i don't like the 45 degree at all because the entire top half of the movement is way too easy.

Back extensions are based. I'm sure there are a few morons here on IST who have been filtered by them and will insist they aren't safe.

Do you keep your back straight or do you flex and extend for max gains?

        Anonymous

You can hyper extend a little, but don’t over do it. Personally I like to hold the position at the top at the last couple reps for that sweet overload

How do you even clear the weight when you're done with it? Seems like a good way to get squat press'd

Every time I do this exercise, I can feel my butthole relaxing when I'm at the bottom, then clenching as I come back up. Is this normal? I don't currently use a squat plug if that helps.

Knees over toes guy is an obvious grifter. His whole thing relies on you believing his story that he was "super injured" which he has shown precisely zero proof for. So what you objectively have is some skinny guy who does lunges.

This. His knee surgery arc is going to be insane.

Wouldn't his knees have exploded by now if his shit was detrimental to them? Doesn't make any sense to me honestly (especially since I don't buy the wear and tear theory because I've seen people get told that an exercise will cause them to get snapped up in three or four years when they've been doing it for 10+ years)

I mean, he's a bit of grifter yes but that doesn't mean what he says isn't fundamentally true. You have to train in a certain range of motion to strengthen that range of motion. Knees going past the toes has been conventional wisdom in olympic lifting and sports performance for decades. He is grifting from the fact that a lot of americans are victims of powerlifting culture and very limited ROM.
