Not at all, but I feel like the few moments of real clarity and confidence I have is when I'm moderately to completely smashed, and I'm chasing that feeling, even if it's moronic and unproductive
thats how i became an alcoholic aswell, managed to quit and worked on my confidence in a sober state and its a thousand times better than feeling confident when drunk and then soul chrushing anxiety and depression when not drunk. that foggy state of mind you get when sober is mostly from alcohol fricking up your brain and probably general anxiety that you try to repress by shutting off

Fasting is your friend. If you have not eaten you'll get drunk on way less and you'll save the calories. Just remember to drink a shit ton of water when you're done with the alcohol for the night so that you wont be to hungover to go to the gym the day after.
It's such shit that the best time to booze is during summer with everything going on, but it's also the best time to be cut. I would sacrifice food and muscle just to be able to booze more last year, then my summer boozing cut fun turned into bulking where I kept drinking and since "now I can get fatter" it was fine. Then the drinking never stopped and I got a massive beer gut and coped by pretending I was just bulked up. Finally quit drinking and weight is dropping off me like crazy and gains are all coming back.

I have a protein shake (yogurt/berries/whey/milk) a steak or trout fillet, and a burger / rotisserie chicken / beef liver w/ rice for dinner.
Easy to lose 1-2 lbs a week and drink that bottle of wine.
