I don't even know. I'm pretty moronic so diagnosing myself isn't something I'll pretend I can do I just had lots of back pain and doing back extensions fixed me.
Maybe you just had pain due to inactivity and sitting a lot? I had back pain at the young ass age of 20 for those reasons and it cleared away when I started working out.
I do behind the head OHP with the bar for 10 reps to warm up but you could try resistance bands

I definitely messed up my rotator cuff a tiny bit when i lifted something awkwardly outside the gym but don’t know what’s the best way to rehab it. it only hurts a small bit so don’t think i need something like surgery

What doesn't make sense to me is that this extension exercise trains your already shortened low back muscles. They are supposed to be strong already with all that sitting
external rotations
inner/outer rotation is the answer to every question regarding shoulder health
