Pixel buds a. Bought them over the pro because they have wingtips and are impossible to fall out of your ear. They are pretty good all around. Maybe even on black Friday sale right now.
Tried galaxy buds 2 before, they are pretty shit in my experience, always falling out of my ears.

These are the best. Lightweight and secure in the ear plus the noise cancelling puts you in the zone.

You want earbuds with connecting wires for security. For some reason they barely make them anymore despite being perfect for physical activity. Bose SoundSport was one of the best.

I didn't like that the XM5s removed the matte finish on the outside & removed the raised brass dot they included on the XM4s.

If they sounded better I might be willing to overlook that, but I couldn't tell the difference.

I sent the 5s back and kept my 4s for another year.

          Anonymous

I agree, the XM5s are smaller and allegedly fit better (bought them, but havent tried them as they just arrived).

Wish they had kept the design of the XM4s tho they look premium. Last time o buy from Sony anyways, after bricking an earbud with their garbage update they are scummy as apple in my book

Unless you're listening to music super fricking loud, it won't happen. You have to know how to take care of your ears, too. Your over-ear headphones and flatheads can be be just as damaging as something like in-ear. Learn your headphone's resistance and you'll learn that the lower the resistance, the higher the volume and the lower you'll be putting your device volume. The worst part about in-ear is jamming ear wax, but that can be easily solved by cleaning them.

If you want something cheap that can be wireless, I would say look for some good IEMs with a bluetooth attachment. Here's an autist's guide from IST. https://rentry.org/c8gqc

You need something with hooks if you want to guarantee they are secure.

I had some of those small bud ones and they felt pretty secure, then one decided to just eject and shoot itself into the undergrowth for no fricking reason.

I use Shokz (bone conduction - they sit outside your ear)
Fricking glorious, especially if you want to hear what's going on around you - a safety issue if you run/bike.
If I'm ever in a gym where I don't want to hear their shit music, I can just put in foam earplugs.
Also nice because if you want to talk to someone, you can either hit the pause button or just take them off - way quicker that taking out ear buds.

I got this type for work (nuclear plant worker) - they pair to our radios, so I can still communicate with ear plugs in. Really no other approved method other than hoping you can hear your radio maxed out with earplugs in or you get the earmuffs with bluetooth. With these, you just put ear plugs in and they only work better.

Note that if you're a poorfriend, the knockoff versions suck balls, so just use wireless earbuds.

The only time I ever had ones fall off is when I was surfing and completely ate shit. Luckily I found them, but I'd recommend putting a strap on them or floats if you're going to be in natural water. The swim version (which I don't have) lets you load music on them directly, because bluetooth doesn't work for shit underwater. I tried a friend's swim version and they were great - if you like listening to music while you swim. Otherwise, get the normal ones. I've had them in the ocean many times.

I have heard that bone conduction earphones are pretty good, can you hear well with them even in loud environments? Ive tried headphones with an open ear design and those have to be cranked up super high in any non-quiet environment, and even then audio clarity really isnt well

        Anonymous

        >can you hear well with them even in loud environments?
surprisingly, yes - only a few gyms have been loud enough that I felt the need to put earplugs in

I'm usually not a gear-gay. I probably never would have tried them out if like 90% of my group at work didn't have them - I figured if even the cheapest of those bastards got them, they must be worth it. Borrowed a pair and I was sold in about 30 minutes.

I don't even know where my wireless earbuds are. The only other things I use are noise-canceling over the ear headphones for when I drive. (RV, so it's loud as all frick, and since I'm fully remote my wife and I spend about 6 months out of the year just dicking around across the country.)

Have the samsung pro buds 2. They sound good and usually stay in during workout.

Software is the biggest downside. Can't get it to cooperate with google to play songs on command like previous headphones. Keeps trying to reconnect to samsung apps instead.
