I have herniated lumbar discs and I front squat with my heels elevated on a plate and it causes ZERO back pain. It’s the only way I am able to squat.

      ????
On what planet is a back squat easier on the lower back than a front squat ?

Are you just leaning over like a moron or something? Front squat is insanely easy on low back.

are you moronic? like this guy [...], they're basically the only way I can squat without getting back pain. It's definitely easier on the lower back.

load up your back squat 1rm and front squat it. let me know how that goes
if you mean its easier by virtue of lower loads needed to work the legs, that is a completely different thing than easier

I unironically snapped my back up doing front squats
Years later they're my favourite squat
Just have to do it right

my problem is that i have to do the cross arms as my wrists aren't flexible enough to do like pic related

Try just wrapping your index and middle fingers over the bar, your wrist doesnt have to bend back as far

Unless you're a weightlifter there's no reason you even need to hold the bar like that. Crossed palms works just as well.

Focus on lifting your elbows higher rather than bringing wrists back. Try to reach the ceiling with your elbows

    >there is literally no reason to do back squats over front squats
Yea if you are a dyel. Anyone who actually lifts do both but focuses on one more than the other.

what's your front squat pr? very low i bet. only someone who doesn't lift would ever think this.

    the quads more

    relatively yes, absolutely no.

There is 0 reason to front squat unless you're an Olympic weightlifter.

that's unironically a perfect reason, then, and you should do them.

OP just listed all the reasons. Quads will get even more jacked with less effort and less risk. And have carryover to your back squat if you care about that sort of thing.

    the quads more
Why not just do hacksquats or the leg extension machine if you want to target your quads?
    >>easy to bail, no neck snapping
Don't put the bar on your neck and use good form

    ?t=160

A standard back squat shouldn't be using your back at all.

Have you ever bailed a front squat without safeties? If you drop it on your knees or thighs you're not walking for a long time.

You're supposed to step back out of the bar path when you bail...

Well yeah you're *supposed* to, doesn't mean you always can. Especially if you black out during a max attempt.

      >Have you ever bailed a front squat without safeties?
Yes, many times. Get stuck in the hole then just lean forward from atg position, no need to drop anything.

Try just wrapping your index and middle fingers over the bar, your wrist doesnt have to bend back as far

      >wrapping your index and middle fingers over the bar, your wrist doesnt have to bend back as far
No fingers should be wrapped around the bar at all.

my problem is that i have to do the cross arms as my wrists aren't flexible enough to do like pic related

Do zombie front squats till you figure it out. It will fix your form so fast.

    I do these instead
    >guaranteed quad annihilation
    >more out of less weight (loads are even lower than a standard front squat)
    >can hit ATG effortlessly
    >minimal technique and mobility requirements
    >extremely easy on the lower back
    >can overload the eccentric as you fatigue by using your hips more on the concentric part of the lift (not injurious unlike on a normal backsquat since your hips/lower back are completely fresh)
