I have herniated lumbar discs and I front squat with my heels elevated on a plate and it causes ZERO back pain. It’s the only way I am able to squat.

Unless you're a weightlifter there's no reason you even need to hold the bar like that. Crossed palms works just as well.
Focus on lifting your elbows higher rather than bringing wrists back. Try to reach the ceiling with your elbows
