I was about to say "has anyone ever said that", but then I remember my high school science teacher told me that...

If you even INSINUATE something that even RESEMBLES keto, fitoids will literally fall out of their computer chairs to correct you.

        As they should.

Keto is the dumbest fricking "diet" of all time. The people on IST simply want people to become large, and on keto you become an effeminate gay.

Oh it's a schizo thread. I haven't been here for so long that I forgot an autist browses both reddit and IST every hour and will vehemently defend keto because he's a fatass moron with no life. Keto is for extremely fat people and homosexuals. You're both.

Carbs are good for you in moderation, they give you energy. They're high in calories so limit them, try to only have a bit every day.
It's that easy, don't listen to meme fad diets.

How is it dumb, genuinely asking. I can’t think of another way to do a serious cut without the downsides of no energy. With keto I could still do 5 mile runs every day and have zero cravings yet still lose like 20 pounds in a month. Meanwhile if I eat below 2000/day but otherwise keep my diet I feel like complete shit.

why do you think the Inuit, who eat a zerocarb diet, have genetically adapted to be resistant to entering ketosis?

To avoid ketoacidosis? Hell if I know but it has exactly zero relevance to what I asked. As someone who doesn’t have that mutation, along with anyone else not living in the artic, what does that have to do with me?

                you asked about keto, moronbro.

theres no evidence this is the case. the more likely explanation is that we couldnt measure ketones very well a hundred years ago. urine tests are not very accurate now and were even worse then

                Anonymous

Not him but “no evidence” is really just outright ignorance. There’s studies that measure blood ketones not urine analysis. We know the specific mutation (and probably the strongest selected for mutation known) and pretty much know the mechanism of action. The mutation causes the liver to use fatty acids for gluconeogenesis and leaves little for ketogenesis. “No evidence” is the most ignorant shit you could say and that I’ve ever heard on IST, and I used to frequent /misc/

this isn't a hot take. search "inuit ketosis".
                >urine ketones
what is the main symptom for diagnosing diabetes? pissing glucose.
why is pissing ketones ok but pissing glucose isn't?

ketones in the urine isnt always diagnostic of ketosis

                Anonymous

that doesn't answer why pissing ketones is acceptable but pissing glucose isn't.

                Anonymous

ketones were more difficult to measure when glucose in the urine was relatively easy to measure. im not sure how many times i have to repeat myself

                Anonymous

how does that answer my question?
because ketones are harder to measure in the urine it's ok to piss them out but not glucose?

                Anonymous

the idea the inuit are not in ketosis comes from very old observations that they werent pissing out ketones. pissing out ketones doesnt mean youre not in ketosis nor were the tests good at the time
