Man I wish I could still buy Skyr but it's too expensive, so I get the plain Greek yoghurts from Aldi instead, but they don't taste nearly as good, evem with my protein powder in it.

      Get an instant pot.
Very easy to make yogurt with them.
Use a skyr to innoculate and add some cheap rennet tablets.
Let whey drain a few hours in the fridge and you're in business.
I try to figure out when places are gonna toss their milk and pick it up cheap. Got 3 gallons for $.25 each last time and made about 6 quarts of skyr for under $1.

        >I try to figure out when places are gonna toss their milk and pick it up cheap.
Does the end product last longer when you are done or do you need to eat it fast?
Been doing my own basic yogurt every now and then and have only used fresh milk for it, something about making yogurt with nearly expired milk doesnt sound good.

I have never had an issue.
You're sterlizing it with the boil.
Then, your yogurt inoculation eats up all if not most the available resources for those original bacteria to grow.
If anything, the shear amount of em makes it difficult for a new colony to start.
Big thing is to not put dirty spoons in the container.
I'm not using straight rancid milk but, if I can still drink it, it goes in the pot.

Yeah, sounds good actually. Thanks! Might have to start looking at deals for milk because Im a total fiend for greek yogurt. I just wish milk powder was a bit cheaper here, such a nice way to make the yogurt thicker so you dont need to strain it as much.

I put mine in yogurt bag, in a collander setting on a bowl and keep it in the fridge.
Yogurt doesn't go sour and gets a ton out.
I kind of shift the bag around a bit every now and then. Amazon has a yogurt bag thats meant to fit over a bowl and that shit is pretty damn great.
My greek gets thick and my skyr is like cream cheese at this point.
I highly recommend keeping a pint of whey just in case you wanna go back a bit.
I'm gonna mix some with vinegar this summer and make "whizzle". Kind of an ole time gatorade they used to mix with rum.

I've never seen them sugar free. What I do is I buy a couple of tubs natural and a couple of tubs flavored and then I just mix half and half.

You get a little sugar but it tastes better.

Honey and fruit is excellent for it too

    my Black person

2 eggs, 100g of high protein vanilla yogurt, and 30-40g of your choice of flour and a tablespoon of sugar with 3g of baking powder, mix that shit up and slap it in the pan for 4-5 minutes on medium each side and enjoy your delicious pancake

I found some low calorie (25c per tbsp) strawberry jam with 4g of fiber and spread a couple tbsp on it and roll it up, very nice pre-workout or post-workout meal
