Embrace the sun and steel

If my self was my dwelling, then my body resembled an orchard that surrounded it. I could either cultivate that orchard to its capacity or leave it for the weeds to run riot in. There are some truths in this world that one cannot see unless one unbends one s posture.
- Yukio Mishima

This book was very cringey and I think Mishima was an autist

      What made you cringe?
      I haven't read it.

        I ignore women

I assume it’s because Mishima just poetically describes how good it feels to be fit and physically active and romanticizes fitness. But idk I only read the first few pages before I realized I have no purpose for reading such a book. Maybe it’s inspiring to nerds or motivational to sloths but I’m neither.

IST deep throats Mishima, Camus, and Arulius; but shows no love for Sartre. I recently read babby's first existential philosophy and i do think it fits in to the boards mindset.

Heidegger is the most based existentialist and yes, I do include his political identity, but fit is too moronic to read anything beyond summaries of his thought.

Keep trying to "get" your little gurus' word salad

This reminds me of the mid 90s where management gurus were obsessed with Japanese samurai culture and wrote books about middle management with a samurai flavor and ideas. I cannot help but cringe at the fact that management people can look at middle management and in any way think "yes this is just like Japanese warrior culture" and use terms like "harakiri"

Japanese samurai shit is the most veneer philosophy in the west. It's slapped on all sorts of shit but it's paper thin, just gossamer thin. The real thing is an elite philosophy from an isolated island nation from 500 years ago that took a millenia to develop and was never held by more than 1% of the population, oh yeah and it's all in the #1 hardest language for English speakers to learn. It's perhaps the most hard to comprehend philosophy on the planet. And they paste it in these self help books that you listen to on audiobook while you're washing the dishes. One of the oddest contrasts I know of. Possibly the most hopeless intellectual endeavor of our time.

While he was an okay thinker, Sartre came by and fixed his somewhat deterministic ideas in Being and Nothingness. Also he's a total puss politically, cowing to social pressure despite him only being able to do his thing because of the israelite Husserl. Sartre on the otherhand refused to let social pressures determine his political philosophy.

The guy spends the entirety of this panflet glorifying distancing oneself from rumination by way of embracing action and your immediate material environment/sensations... by effectively pondering needlessly about it with flowery writing. In any case, it's not too bad of a read.

Toyota method etc. China's got the chance to kick our ass in a bit but we don't see similar mimicking shit with China. Japan has always been more fancy than China, Chinese are too rough and tumble for us to idolize. Chinese get their hands dirty so they're less angelic than Japanese, harder to project our ideal selves onto
