Everyone trashes on macOS yet my boss and their boss uses it, my industry leading professors use it, and the cute girl at the coffee shop uses it. At this point I like what I see from the silicon chips, why shouldn't I get a Macbook Pro as my next machine?
Because you will forever lose the respect and admiration of the users of a Senegalese crocheting board.
First post is the best post, as usual.
Don't these troll threads get boring for you?
>everyone trashes on macOS
not really it's usually the hardware and policies.
The hardware has improved yet the policies still the same.
The RAM upgrade cost is still pretty egregious.
The time saved not having to deal with Windows or tinker with Linux is well worth the monetary investment. "Buy once, cry once" as they say.
Once you get a little older and enter the workforce you'll realize that time is actually the most important resource there is–not money.
No tinkering required from me with a just werks distro
no one upgrades RAM anymore
also, no one is that poor anymore. just buy a new laptop.
Nah the hardware is pretty good these days. I'd use a MacBook as my daily driver if it ran windows natively.
Because apple is one of the very worst companies for fricking over customers. I've heard many stories of people who bought macbooks in the mid 2010s, expensive deluxe maxed out ones, treated them gently broke later on its own with the battery swelling up and fricking the screen cable and apple charged ~$500 for repairs. On deluxe laptops that cost a shit load.
If you only need a maximum of two monitors, you should get an M3 Macbook Air.
>project that EVERYONE hates MacOS which is a lie
>but actually is not THAT bad (no one said its bad)
the problem i have is that its inferior to the free software alternative, i can have chromeOS or just about ANY software in my PC. while you goyim will be stuck forever in the shackles of your masters that enslave you.
frick i'm becoming old and starting to sound like stallman
these macbooks are giant phones now
grab a CuckBook for all we care, m8
It will be YOUR problem, not ours.
>Going in 2ooo$ for some melty keyboard, soldered in garbage.
For that price you can build multiple specialized devices that each outperform that meme device.
>But muh all in one
That's fine, homosexual. You can put all your money in that McBooknalds but in 3 years when it melts and the screen cracks and fails, you'll just have to pay another 2ooo$. So I less than 5 years you're 4ooo$ in on a general use device with moderate computing power.
>appeal to mass
most people are braindead so congratulations.
IST is mad at how comfy m2 life is
>inb4 only 8gb ram
works fine
I've got one of these for work. I really like it, but the only problem is it can only support 1 external screen. Almost bought one for home to replace my aging 2013 MBP, but what a stupid gimp, even the 2010 Macbook Air supported multiple displays.
It's way nicer than the new 14" design, which is hard to pick up and the notch and keyboard are crap and the lack of keyboard brightness and launchpad buttons sucks.
ive always been a laptopgay so i never noticed the display gimp. that is stupid. but i like mine overall, looking forward to future ARM laptops.
actually my main complaint is that nobody supports touchbar except apple. makes touchbar mostly useless, when it could be extremely useful
Touchbar is dead. Time to move on.
Touchbar is nice because it lets you put the buttons you want. Changing F4-F6 on the new Macbooks after many years of having it be one way is stupid (and who needs things like spotlight when it's already got a super easy shortcut: CMD+Space). With the touchbar you can have it anyway you want.
if anything i want more touchbar. give me haptic and forcetouch on touchbar. give in-app specific functions on touchbar. give me more keyboard control everything through touchpad. its great for everything mac native
>IST is mad at how comfy m2 life is
>said IST
what did IST mean by this
i got 16gb, but I've never seen it go over 13gb yet
We landed on the moon with less than 2KB RAM, you can survive on 8GB browsing Facebook.
>we landed on the moon
>implying the moon exists
>8GB
>current year
Even my first-gen i5 (over a decade old) has 16GB. My current Xeon rig (that cost less than the cheapest Mac mini) has 32GB and I can upgrade to 128GB if I ever feel like.
macbook if you want pussy.
thinkpad if you want bussy.
What if I want neither?
>Everyone trashes on macOS
more like everyone praises it. anything will have some critics
I like my macbook overall but don't particularly like macOS
>why shouldn't I get a Macbook Pro as my next machine?
you should get one if you want one
a MacBook doesn't attract the trannies like a ThinkPad does
>my boss and their boss
lmao u r a peon
a literal serf fr fr fr no cap
btw there will be an earth changing event in 3 weeks
>three more weeks
The fact that you care this much what other people think tells me you SHOULD get a macbook pro. You're a fricking normie, now get your macbook, and go to your coffee shop. Don't post here, I'm sure you're busy getting all the girls attention with your macbook.
Who gives a shit what laptop you have?
shill thread number idk
Macbook is much better than Windows at least
poo in the loo ipajeet
anon, i get that all those successful and well-rounded people use it, but you just have to listen to autistic, asocial incels instead.
Buy it from Apple and maybe take advantage of their 14-day no-questions-asked return policy
If you hate it you can say “frick it”
Take the holy trifecta pill:
>Desktop PC with Windows 11
>Macbook or Macbook Pro
>Thinkpad with linux distro of your choice or FreeBSD
Above 90% of US doctors took the mystery serum for the flu.
>tech illiterates use macos
tell me more
>At this point I like what I see from the silicon chips
No human being says this.
yeah honestly since the massive jump in performance with the m-series chips its hard to deny the value in a macbook. the og m1 air is starting to get cheap and old but still outdoes any competition.
personally, i just dont like macos. not with a trackpad either. honestly dont even get the hype around the trackpad but thats besides the point. the ux is so outdated compared to anything else on the market and its just for the sake of that classic mac desktop look theyve had for eternety. the most efficient desktops in 2024 are windows 11 and gnome if youre willing to put up with whatever the linux destop is trying to do
