Doesn't a small amount of alcohol help blood flow? Or is that just wine?

        Anonymous

        It does.
I have experimented with a lot of pre-workout stuff and drugs, and taking 2/3rds of a shot of whiskey will allow better lifts, less fatigue.
However as with anything - less (more rare) is more. Do it regularly and it doesnt work.

Regarding drinking as an eastern euro it is common to drink A LOT but i caan def say that it ruins deep sleep and thus HGH secretion and thus gains.
Do not drink often and not a lot.
I have stopped drinking altogether drom NY and i assume i will only ever touch the sruff at major celebrations, so like 5x a year.

      >Protein synthesis
I hate it when some moron shits this out. The only studies about alcohol's effect on protein synthesis were made by guys who were blackout drunk, They literally instructed the subjects to drink till they pass out. The studies literally say nothing about how bad a drink or two is on protein synthesis.

This is the only right opinion, if you care about health and fitness DONT DRINK ALCOHOL. Ignore all the homosexuals that will start coping with their alcohol consumption. If you want to drink go ahead, I ain't your dad and nobody can stop just stop pretending it's good for your fitness goals.

This 10 dollar book is all it took. No AA. No treatment. Went from being terminally drunk chewing gum at work to never drinking. It was east too, once you get over the withdrawal you never want it again.

You should never get drunk. If you drink to the point where your mood or perception changes, you are a loser. Take the British gentleman pale: Have a cheeky small ale at the pub on the way home, and that's it.

It will affect your sleep, even if you wont feel it mentally.
Alco also is so mild it is easy to get into a habit aand later into addiction. As you are younger the spees of metabolism allows drinking with almost no visible physical consequences but once the habit forms it wwill bite you in the ass after age 25/30

homie have you tried a simple google search? This shit is well researched.

Drinking liquor, even a little, during muscle growth cuts gains by ~25%.
If your looking for validation to keep drinking go down to the pub

It's far from well researched, and you completely mischaracterize the findings of the studies.

Guys, I talked to a nurse about my alcoholism and she suggested possibly Antabuse treatment but I refused thinking I can quit with willpower alone as I don't want to start taking drugs. Did I take the correct choice?

      Anonymous

      >Did I take the correct choice?
yes. quitting alcohol is easy, just keep yourself occupied, or get another addiction which is less damaging. For example cbd weed works to switch from alcohol in my opinion, i don't get high but there is "something" and that "something" is often good enough.

Antabus is a choice as well, makes you not able to drink but if you are a serious alcoholic you can drink through it.

      Depends how much u drink.
I have a friend who was a big drunkard and he is slowly reliesing his addiction and aside from being a bit fidgety and b***hy, he seems fine.
If you have been a very heavy drinker and also have slow metabolism (e.g. you are fat or sumo built) you are in physical danger so be careful how you quit to not go into a shock

AA meetings helped me. Cravings for alcohol have always overpowered my willpower so the first step of AA is actually empowering because I'm now able to win the war by not fighting it. If I drink the drink is always going to win.

going from beer/gin to coffee is what turned the human civilization into a space ferrying species.

Drinking is the socially acceptable heroin.

If you have to, drink only on a 2nd rest day sometime around midday before a workout on the following day. A routine of M/W/F would result in you drinking on Sunday afternoon. It's effects are the worst during rest days, or if there is a hangover that prevents you from working out properly. Otherwise it largely doesn't matter.

The real rub is to avoid drinking at night, you can get buzzed for an hour or so and then your body should process enough of the alcohol out to get you to a sort of mild headache normality, but it's still got a lot of work to do to completely flush the alcohol out of your system so it fricks with your sleep recovery which is when you build muscle. Never drink the night of a workout or the night after and try not to get blackout drunk ever and it's fine. Keep in mind the extra carbs/calories and probably avoid it on a cut, otherwise it doesn't make much of a difference in terms of gains.

its just empty calories, half a bottle of wine is 30 mins of running or 60 minutes of walking, if you can deal with it you should be OK

but knowing myself and many other lads it never stops with half a bottle, you usually ramp up drinking until you overdo it one day, then slowly reduce it, to ramp it up again

      Anonymous

      >half a bottle of wine = 60 minutes of walking
The math is settled then, grab a bottle of wine and go for a 2 hour lindy walk

        Anonymous

I had many nights where I walked for 60 mins and came back to crush a bottle of red in front of wikipedia articles and 30 minute video essays
its lindy, but its not sustainable and you do get a hangover which sucks

For me, a good diet and enough water completelylevels any hangover out - as long as it's not more than a bottle of (good, and that is important) wine.

          >what it's like?
Cannabis light without the high. You feel "something", a bit lighter. That's all, still satisfying in some way.

          Curious.

not sure how accurate this is but I've read that the heavy drinker who binges on occasion tends to spiral and hit rock bottom much quicker than someone who drinks daily but in smaller quantities. Supposedly, the former puts your body through the wringer and is more conducive to eventual issues of dependency while the daily drinkers can go on for years or even decades before they notice the have a problem
