Exercise does not increase lifespan.
Genes do.
https://www.nature.com/articles/srep18259
"Previous observational follow-up studies in humans suggest that increasing fitness through physical activity levels could prolong life; however, our controlled interventional study with laboratory rats bred for low and high intrinsic fitness contrast with these findings. Also, we find no evidence for the suggested association using pairwise analysis among monozygotic twin pairs who are discordant in their physical activity levels. Based on both our animal and human findings, we propose that genetic pleiotropy might partly explain the frequently observed associations between high baseline physical activity and later reduced mortality in humans."
Lack of exercise will decrease your lifespan.
I don't need a source. You're gay.
This but seriously
Shove em studies up your arsehole israelites
quite the opposite, actually
Das it mane
is that why the people with the longest lifespans recorded aren't athletes?
IT IS SETTLED
Irrelevant, we lift for women
Are you having sex out of wedlock you son of God. You are going to be hung over a fiery pit and burned.
>god is love!
>also don't do anything he doesn't want you to or you'll suffer for eternity!
>sure he made you capable of doing things he doesn't want and lots of these things are things you will feel biologically compelled to do but nope you'll burn forever!
>isn't he loving??
complete midwit take but thanks for trying you'll get there soon buddy
Tell us more about how youve mastered theological philosophy Mr I post on an anime website
> theological philosophy
>basically schizoids endlessly debating what some other schizoid sandBlack folk wrote two thousand years ago in their fairytale books
wow ur so smart and insightful that im atheist now 🙂
brb buying god delusion now
I stand unrefuted, you ego just can't handle the absurdity of it all yet
touch grass
touch pussy
>le im master debater >:) i win u lose haha
such a charming young man you are you must get all the ladies
btw i could effortlessly crush you in a religious debate but i just don't feel like it lol sorry pal
Oh and would you look at that:
the numbers seem to agree with me
sucks to suck
It’s almost as if it’s a system made by incels to stop Chad from railing their crush.
Or more like there's an actual purpose to procreation beyond just le it feels good.
Chad still wins chinlet.
>muh observational study says
great i dont care. its meaningless other than a fun way to blow smoke up your ass
>>muh observational study says
Illiterate-kun, the study is DISPROVING the observational study.
the point is there was nothing to disprove to begin with. Disproving a non finding with another non finding. Rats are not humans believe it or not. Unfortunately I don't have a study to back that up
>Rats are not humans believe it or not.
Okay. We've almost made it halfway through the quoted pseudo-paragraph in the OP.
Now take my hand and read with me.
>Also, we find no evidence for the suggested association using pairwise analysis among monozygotic twin pairs who are discordant in their physical activity levels.
great thats still not a controlled experiment and thus ill reiterate my point. there was nothing to disprove to begin with
I'd trade my life for Zyzz' everyday of the year though
I'm 6'4, all my oldwr relatives died in their 90s, i have a head full of hair, relatively fast metabolism and a heqlthy weight for my age, not to mention me having a wife who loves me, why do i need to lift anyway? I just visit IST to laugh at genelets thinking they can "make it"
>all my oldwr relatives died
😉
> hey I think all of the data accumulated so far via decades of studies and CENTURIES of human experience means nothing because I have le rat study and found no evidence in this sample 2 of two study
Damn so the balance is now 10000 studies vs 2.5. Lemme know when there are 9997.5 more studies showing exercise does nothing
in reality its 0 vs 0 so believe whatever you want
>Unadjusted pairwise HR for death among active compared to inactive members for DZ pairs was lower (HR 0.58 [95% CI 0.46–0.74]) than among MZ pairs (0.85 [0.56–1.30]. When this secondary analysis was repeated in the baseline-healthy subgroup the HRs were 0.64 (0.45–0.89) for DZ pairs and 1.05 (0.58–1.88) for MZ pairs, respectively.
Isn't the human portion of the paper built entirely on a hazard ratio with a confidence interval that crosses 1, making it entirely useless?
Hardly surprising given it's based on just 55 monozygotic twin pairs.
Sorta agree
Granny is 90 years old this year, was fat all her life and ate eastern European peasant slop all her life too (which admitedly is still healthier than the commercial goy slop in the stories today)
Never exercised 1 minute of her life except the required physical activities for living in the countryside. Never left her village. Is still alive and kicking today with no signs of dying anytime soon, never had a serious illness or injury either, just the common stuff everyone gets once in a while. Ia deeply religious while cursing God daily, doesn't give a shit about what "health" is, just does whatever she did in 9 fricking decades of existence, all day every day.
>ate eastern European peasant slop all her life
>Ia deeply religious while cursing God daily
Ugh literally me fr fr
Eastern European granny was fat during world war 2 and the communist years?
Le epic rat study. I love science
I don't care
>our controlled interventional study
>with rats
Oh okay so its trash
>new study suggests
>in rats
I'll tell you what, looking at that sexy tummy lengthens my "lifespan" if you catch my drift.
Ratty lifting is a joke
first of all
>rat studies
even then, let's assume the outcome is legit and lifespan does not change. Would this take into account quality of life and level of intervention to keep an unhealthy person alive longer. For example, a fit man living to 90 without needing any medical treatments is a lot different than some obese diabetic amerigolem who's only able to continue breathing due to being pumped full of insulin and a dozen pills and getting new cardiac stents put in twice a year
