Explain to me why you shouldn't do an "upper body" day and a "lower body" day

Explain to me why you shouldn't do an "upper body" day and a "lower body" day
Wouldn't that make the most sense? Aside from cardio there's very little compound exercises between these areas of the body, you can give your upper and lower body alternating rest days

Theres a lot of muscles in upper body. You can spend a whole hour on pecs and people do.

You can spend a whole hour on pecs, but it is completely unnecessary, pick like two excercises one for the “bigger” part of your chest (pectoralis major), and one for upper chest, do a couple sets take them to failure and there you go

That's certainly a split, it's just personal preference

Most routines state to not do cardio before leg day, but if you really dont give a frick that your lifts might be slightly worse, it doesnt matter. Also I thought most routines were u/l, only recently have I experimented with none ul/ routines and i don't care for them at all and recommend some sort of ul. You'll inevitably have a larger lower body just because more muscles in the legs and what not, but that's not necessarily a bad thing anyways and is probably good from a functional standpoint.

    That's a normal split, it's called upper/lower.
It's very versatile and can be run in a bunch of different ways for different purposes.

Thats what you are supposed to do? I do arms and back then legs and core the next day. 6 days a week. Never felt better.

    It's a viable routine, like Pull/Push and/or Full body.
But leg exercises are usually more taxing(glutes and quads are the biggest muscles of your body), so you want to have more rest days between those.

Because you won’t recover fast enough

same. my legs look good enough from cycling, running and bodyweight strength stuff like lunges and squats. if i started doing weighted exercises my thighs would get huge and grossly unbalanced like will tennyson

Full body is great if you're just starting, and need to drive up your rookie numbers. You'll recover, and having more sessions means more increasing steps.
As for splits, what are your requirements?
If you want to squat 2/week and to keep squats and pulls separated, you can't do u/l, you end up with some variety of push/pull
