There’s no point in seriously working legs unless you’re a competitive athlete.

this. work them just a bit. atg squats look and feel cool and give you
      nice ass.

I don't care. Squatting is actually fun and I'm never going to do homosexual leg press.

      this

I work legs to get some extra metabolism so I can eat some carbs

this too. if you do split doing one set of high rep squats will increase your metabolism and improve nutrient partitioning.

Its a simple matter of fact

Go do a set of Leg Press, then see how your legs feel, you'll notice your leg muscles are pumped up, all of your leg muscles are activated, they're all working on the lift, you're able to push the muscle fibers being trained a lot more

Now compare that to a Squat, where your failure point does not come from the muscle, but comes from the structure of your body, such as the Spine and the rest of the posterior chain which highly impacts the central nervous system, you're getting nowhere near the stress on the muscle fibers of the legs here because other mechanics of the lift are failing way before you ever reach a point of muscular fatigue via the actual muscle tissue

If you're too stupid to prevent your legs from locking on the press you probably don't have the IQ or coordination to squat properly

I warm up with squat and then do leg press people look at me like i'm crazy, for a lanklet 6'1 i don't get any lower body isolation from squats it's more of a core stability exercise which why i use it to warm up along with deadlifts

I like leg press due to how simple and easy it is to get into. Squats require a lot of mental effort.

I've never cared about the exertion required for BB squats and BB bench presses. For some reason, I have a much higher pain tolerance than average. But I'm very neurotic with OCD tendencies, and I hate the feeling that I'm not doing these more complex movements with proper form. So I don't do them. Simple as. Leg press and hack squat machines instead of barbell squats. Simple as. Machine bench presses instead of barbell bench presses. Simple as. My workout compliance has never been higher. I actually look forward to going to the gym now. Eight months and counting, which is a record for me.

Yes of course, it squat will also target hamstrings, back, and even traps. It’s wise to do both. I always start with squat and then immediately move to leg press with no rest in between. 2 years in and I can still get doms the next day.
