Fasting 3x a week, and I gained weigh

>fasting 3x a week, Monday/Wednesday/Friday
>completely removed sugar from diet
>limit carbs to complex carbs like potatoes, pretty much thats it, no pastas or breads
>on my eating days i still eat only 2,000 calories that I meticously track through MyFitnessPal
>I am 6'2, 240lbs
>walk over 15,000 steps a day

Gained two fricking pounds this week boys. Is it truly over for me? What the actual frick. Last summer, I lost 30lbs by playing 8 hours of basketball every day and eating 500 calories (not even exaggerating, I passed out twice and was pissing orange). As soon as I went to a "normal" eating routine (ie eating 2000ish calories a day with no sugar) I gained it all back in 6 months.

What the frick is wrong with me? Why can't I lose this weight? I don't drink or smoke or do any drugs. I drink about half a gallon of water every day. I've had my blood tests done twice this year, everything was perfect. My glucose levels are perfect.

A lot of the time, people miscount calories because they measure food by volume, not weight. Peanut butter is a good example, 2tbsp is more than the actual serving in grams. Do you have a kitchen scale?

No kitchen scale. Do I really need to weigh everything in order to lose weight? FML. I mean if thats what it takes ill do it im at my wits end. i thought fasting 3x a week would be enough to eat roughly 2000 calories on my eating days

It could be the fatty stuff. Tablespoon of oil is like 120 calores. Drink alot of water and put some salt in it for electrolytes.
It also could be that you measured yourself first without and later with water weight. I get 2kg heavier after my workout cause i drink alot of water.

0 carb instead. It could also just be water retention. When you say you're fasting does that mean you're doing some gay stupid intermittent fasting bullshit? Frick intermittent fasting. Prolonged fasting is where it's at

Damn. Are you me? I’m not in the gym right now, but walking 10k to 15k steps per day. Fasting. Also 6’ 1” and 240 lbs. Can’t seem to lose a pound.

Youre just fricking moronic and not actually counting your calories right

Every time there is a "i'm dieting and i'm getting more fat" argument is because people don't count their calories properly. It's thermodynamically impossible. A lot of times it's not the person's fault. Sometimes labels don't properly state how much they contain, other times it's confusing on purpose. There is also plenty of "healthy foods" that just because they are healthy doesn't mean they don't contain a shit ton of calories. Examples: Olive oil, any kind of nut, dark chocolate, dairy, etc

Also it's good not to alocate most of the calories near your bed time. Try to eat more in the first 8 hours after you wake up and only ingest protein or fiber near the end of the day.

Lastly don't measure your fat loss through weight. If you are training it's likely you gain muscle weight as you lose fat. Best way to measure fat loss is with a tape around your waist. Don't measure your progress everyday, there is fluctuations in water retention and other things which are not going to reveal any information yet it's going to demotivate you. Just pick a day every week to check.

Anyway, I'm sure you're just counting your calories like a moron. Since you're so bad, do this: if the label says something is 300 kcal then add +50. Do this with every single thing so you wont cheat.

I prefer to eat to maintenance and instead force the deficit through physical activity.

      That's nice, but reality is

      >the fat you eat is the fat you wear

      It's that simple.
