How do I prepare myself for (Water) fasting? I've been eating like a pig for the past two weeks and I've put on a lot of size. I know if I fast for a month I could lose 22 pounds of pure fat. The issue is every time I attempt fasting I end up delaying it by "One day" and the cycle continues.

I have a horrible relationship with food and I have zero self-control/discipline. I hate being fat and I want to make a change, however. Any advice, even if it's ripping into me, is appreciated

    Start with OMAD and once can you comfortably do that, do alternate day fasting.

    Don't listen to anyone telling you you cant do it. Just take electrolytes/ minerals (salt if you have nothing else) the first few days will suck for you but you'll get used to it. Just fast with only water and those, maybe some tea/coffee, until you reach your desired goal weight. after that take advantage of your new gains and regulated leptin/ghrelin and avoid carbs entirely for a minimum of a week or two. Trust. I have fasted 25 days before, only stopped to get back into the gym.

    Don't do long fasts. You will lose weight and fat, but it will come at a very high cost. You will lose ton of muscle, will have high inflammation in the body, weaken your joints and tendons which will increase risk of injury when you return to heavy training. At most do 4-5 day water fasting.

      I realized I needed to consume electrolytes before and during my fast more consistently, as I drink Reverse Osmosis (pure) water.

        Yeah, that's why you shouldn't do it for longer than 4-5 days.

        When we eat food our stomach uses a lot of water to help with digestion. If you don't eat you need less water. When body burns fat it also releases water which further decreases the need for water.

          I literally completed a 120 hour fast a month ago. I needed water, so I topped off, avoiding having to chug all at once.

          The body goes through its glycogen stores in about 36h. That's up to 6.6 lbs of water average. Water is 8lbs per gal. We need 1 gal max a day. Miles may vary but you're way off.

    Stop buying shit to keep in the house. You can't binge what isn't there. Don't keep any snacks, if they're there, the temptation is there too. I dropped most of my weight by not keeping snacks or easy meals like anything microwavable or quickly heated in the oven in my home.

    I've tried fasting and honestly the worst of it was the snake juice I had. Tasted fricking horrible and activated my gag reflex.

    Are fasting capsules a israeli trick or can I just take 2 a day and drink normal actual water instead?

    Do strict carnivore for one week prior to the fast.

    Today I'm starting a 10 day fast.
    Yesterday was my 10th day of carnivore.

    If you cant diet you cant water fast. Water fasting is a lot harder. A simple diet with only 500 ~700 calorie deficit is easy but you gotta have the patience to stick to it for months or even up to a year.

    Stop eating now for today and tomorrow, then go back to eating but eat no carbs or sweeteners whatsoever.
    Treat sugar like a drug.
    After a few days you can go back to fasting. The cravings will be reduced and the oxalate dumping delayed.
    Don't overdo fasting early on, fat will leech chemicals and garbage - that will make you feel horrible, but overdo it and you will actually incur physical harm.

    Start fasting while on a kleto diet. 3-4 days of keto should ready you for a fast. If you fail at keto - steak, eggs and bacon FFS - youre going to fail at fasting. Fasting IS ketosis, so if youre already in ketosis it should be easier.

    it's not gonna be easy, you've been shoveling shit into you fricking face your whole life, the more you do it the easier it gets
    anything more than 10 days I don't think is worth it, you're probably gonna just gain all the weight you might lose back in no time because you are clearly won't stick to a healthy diet and exercise after you break your fast, but maybe the self discipline you learn will carry over, why not start eating better and exercising for at least a few days first
