Fasting for 16 or more hours per day RAISES risk of dying from heart problems by almost double, 20-year analysis finds

post study, not some """news""" article.
>based on self reported data during peak of IF fad
>no covariates whatsoever controlled for
>Chinese study
You can safely throw it in the trash can.
Kek
Also done on boomer americans, asked to recall what they ate
The jokes write themselves
study

>You can safely throw it in the trash can.
like that chinese study about the boost in test levels on the 7th day of nofap. The entire nofap movement is based on that one shitty Chinese study lmao.
This seems like there's an obvious confounding variable behind it: fat people are more likely to try fasting than non-fat people. Fat people are more likely to have heart attacks. QED.
OP is israeli
>not eating will kill you keep snacking
no thanks
~~*new study*~~
Does it count as fasting if only consume coffee and nicotine for the first 12-16 hours of the day?
as long as you skip the vodka and don't add sugar or cream to coffee you're fastin'
Last time I had nicotine on a fast i had to break the fast because my stomach felt so terrible
>https://newsroom.heart.org/news/8-hour-time-restricted-eating-linked-to-a-91-higher-risk-of-cardiovascular-death
>"The study’s limitations included its reliance on self-reported dietary information, which may be affected by participant’s memory or recall and may not accurately assess typical eating patterns. Factors that may also play a role in health, outside of daily duration of eating and cause of death, were not included in the analysis."
Another meme self reporting study, sage.
What the frick is this shit? Neither of these links contain an actual peer reviewed scientific article.
Don't trust this. If you google the name of the "article" you get a bunch of copy and pasted tertiary news articles. I hate the media
>eating disorders are bad for you
no shit
Hey guys did you ever hear abou-HNNNNG
It still makes me laugh
good along with these eggs im eating when i break my fast i can speedrun my death
I'm just going to start eating a small breakfast when I wake up instead of fasting. Seems like a reasonable compromise of not stuffing food down your face every couple of waking hours while still getting the necessary nutrients and satiety to make it through the morning.
I only trust hilton hotema not these food rabbis
I like fasting because I love food, so it would hurt me more to slowly lose weight versus just a one shot deal like I'm doing right now.
That said, I don't think I can get fat again knowing what I know now about life, diet, and training
If you think fasting is favourable for weight loss you know nothing in terms of diet. Fasting mostly eats up muscle. Eating one large meal a day causes more weight gain than eating every 4 hours. The body puts on more fat whenever you decide to break your fast because it rightly thinks you are in a famine and need to preserve your energy and lower your metabolic rate.
Good b8, you earned a (You)
He got me
Got to love all these ''studies'' coming out at the same time
>eating eggs is unhealthy and makes you die (even though this was the narrative 50 years ago and has been debunked and now it's the most famous example of a ''science'' blunder)
>lifting will make you die if you are white
>milk is worse than coke
>not pigging out for for a few hours before bed and a few hours after bed will make you die
>being fat is actually really healthy
>eating protein is bad and harmful
>all meat is bad for you, only eat vegies and bugs
All fake science pushed to make you unhealthy. Do the opposite of what is recommended and you'll live to 200 years
It's almost like real life is a giant IST shitpost
imagine being told something that's in direct conflict with your lived existence, and not only believing it but modifying your behavior
like imagine if some random news story said
>lifting weights and eating a meat-rich diet makes you weak and fat!
and you stop lifting and go on a vegetarian diet because you believe it at face value
normies are truly fricking pathetic
Go back
Why hasn't anyone ever managed to live to 200 years then anon?
Wild news OP, simply flabbergasting! Too bad I enjoy being thin
welp, that settles it, let me gorge myself with tons of ultra-processed calories
There's no doubt that whatever institution that published this is in the pockets of ConAgra and Yum! Foods
I guess that's why all those tibetan monks that fast constantly are dying of heart attacks and cardiac issues in their 50's and 60s.
Oh wait....
it’s just a shit fake study, the fasting group had significantly more smokers and blacks https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/a-new-study-raises-concerns-about-intermittent-fasting-and-a-higher-risk-of-death-heres-why-experts-arent-worried-000332988.html
Do not trust any article published by any ~~*newscorp*~~ owned companies
>starving yourself is bad
shocking
Prepare for every land whale to see this and use this to justify constant eating
That's why the fasting shill threads died out... the shills died out!
As funny as it is to watch fat people seethe, news websites are shit at reporting actual science. First of all - aren't fat people more likely to enroll in IMF? They already have a severely increased rate of cardiovascular illness. It should be a comparative study between thinlets, fatties, and everyone in-between.
Then, what about the benefits? If it turns out IMF causes increased risk, well how long does it take to acquire that risk? How long are the participants fasting like that? It's not a permanent lifestyle choice.
Lastly, even if it TRIPLES the risk of heart disease, isn't that offset by the tremendous improvement in the quality of life of people who get themselves to a normal BMI after the fact?
source: Studied in a research lab in college, actually know the shit that goes into academic papers and how the media distorts fricking everything. Still, it's fun to watch fatties seethe...
Damn, it's almost like high cortisol levels aren't good for your health.
>implying
>News claims a study that found 20000 people doing fasting from.2003-2018.
>annual health surveys
Now that's accurate measurement
