This seems like there's an obvious confounding variable behind it: fat people are more likely to try fasting than non-fat people. Fat people are more likely to have heart attacks. QED.

Factors that may also play a role in health, outside of daily duration of eating and cause of death, were not included in the analysis."

What the frick is this shit? Neither of these links contain an actual peer reviewed scientific article.

I'm just going to start eating a small breakfast when I wake up instead of fasting. Seems like a reasonable compromise of not stuffing food down your face every couple of waking hours while still getting the necessary nutrients and satiety to make it through the morning.

I like fasting because I love food, so it would hurt me more to slowly lose weight versus just a one shot deal like I'm doing right now.
That said, I don't think I can get fat again knowing what I know now about life, diet, and training

If you think fasting is favourable for weight loss you know nothing in terms of diet. Fasting mostly eats up muscle. Eating one large meal a day causes more weight gain than eating every 4 hours. The body puts on more fat whenever you decide to break your fast because it rightly thinks you are in a famine and need to preserve your energy and lower your metabolic rate.

Got to love all these ''studies'' coming out at the same time
    >eating eggs is unhealthy and makes you die (even though this was the narrative 50 years ago and has been debunked and now it's the most famous example of a ''science'' blunder)
    >lifting will make you die if you are white
    >milk is worse than coke
    >not pigging out for for a few hours before bed and a few hours after bed will make you die
    >being fat is actually really healthy
    >eating protein is bad and harmful
    >all meat is bad for you, only eat vegies and bugs
All fake science pushed to make you unhealthy. Do the opposite of what is recommended and you'll live to 200 years

imagine being told something that's in direct conflict with your lived existence, and not only believing it but modifying your behavior
like imagine if some random news story said
      >lifting weights and eating a meat-rich diet makes you weak and fat!
and you stop lifting and go on a vegetarian diet because you believe it at face value

      normies are truly fricking pathetic

As funny as it is to watch fat people seethe, news websites are shit at reporting actual science. First of all - aren't fat people more likely to enroll in IMF? They already have a severely increased rate of cardiovascular illness. It should be a comparative study between thinlets, fatties, and everyone in-between.
Then, what about the benefits? If it turns out IMF causes increased risk, well how long does it take to acquire that risk? How long are the participants fasting like that? It's not a permanent lifestyle choice.
Lastly, even if it TRIPLES the risk of heart disease, isn't that offset by the tremendous improvement in the quality of life of people who get themselves to a normal BMI after the fact?
source: Studied in a research lab in college, actually know the shit that goes into academic papers and how the media distorts fricking everything. Still, it's fun to watch fatties seethe...
