True. Did you know in the Soviet Union, there was a clinic that was curing not only the metabolically sick, but those with schizophrenia and depression with supervised water fasting? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2210982/

It's the first two days that suck, if you aren't fat adapted.

Alright I'm willing to buy into it cause I'm seriously considering suicide at this point. Tell me how to do it and what information you need from me. I will post a thread and report back about my experience. I'm 23 years old, Hella skinny because of hyper metabolism. I smoke cigarettes, about 5 to 8 a day. I usually eat about 3 full meals with snacks in between but the past few weeks have been rough and I barely eat anyway, thus ready to give it a shot. How do I do it swissanon?

5 days is such a short time i dont think you even have to worry about all the dangers of fasting, after long fasts you need to not eat solid and hard to digest foods for a while (or you could die). Not sure what your heart condition is, that is the other thing to worry about when doing fasting, if you are young it should be fine.

Fasting helps reset digestion and immune system. If fasting for a few days makes symptoms clear away in just those few days you probably have some sort of intolerance to foods you are eating. After fasting for a while your body will be more able to put on healthy lean body weight, this is especially tru if you had some sort of food intolerance, as antibodies can stop your body from efficiently building tissue and keep you skinnier than normal.

look up Dr. Zsófia Clemens and do the eating plan she advocates. its one of the best you can possibly do. If you want to get any better than that you need to start going down some weird rabbit holes

You need to eat more meat. Fasting helps to clean your body but in your case you need more bricks, not just to wash them.
I seriously recommend a 100% carnivore diet. In less than one week you will be already feeling full of energy and motivation.

        Anonymous

It's not healthy for extended periods (1+ year). The issue isn't the meat itself but it transforms your gut bacteria dramatically and those gut bacteria excrete cancerous byproducts. Back when the study came out about red meat increasing your risk of cancer it was actually just journalists trashing the research on gut bacteria from extended periods of carnivore diet. Carnivore diet is excellent to lose weight and get healthy again. Just don't make it a way of life,

Fasting, carnivore and ketosis diet are all excellent for losing weight.

          >those gut bacteria excrete cancerous byproducts
Literally is the plant-based diets that causes these bacteria.
One week not eating plants and your brain already get more sharp and motivated. Why? Because plants are the principal cause of leaky gut.

You get hungry because you lost insulin sensitivity. You can adapt to eating fewer times a day just by sticking to it, eventually your hormones triggering the feeling of hunger will rewire to your schedule.

All the nutrients your body needs are stored in your body fat. Except for a few salts like potassium, sodium and magnesium which you can put in water to make the fast easy. Fasting is extremely healthy for your body.

Idc that you can survive without eating for several days, you'll be weak and your cognitive function will rapidly decrease. That alone is enough of a reason to avoid going long periods with no food. Fasting is fatty cope, lift heavy weights and eat a healthy diet of carbs, high quality protein (beef and eggs are great) and healthy fats from olive oil whole milk etc.

              Did you supplement these [...]
Without them after like 3-5 days you'll start feeling complete shit.

You will feel completely normal of you put potassium and sodium in water and sip on that. That's the only things that will frick with you, you can't fast without it. You feel bad in the first 24 hours while you transition into ketosis. Some people call it ketosis flu. Once you get into ketosis and your body begins burning fat for energy you feel great. Potassium and sodium stops you from getting brain fog and headaches. Fasting is an ancient healing tradition for all the regions of the world, it's ancient wisdom. They assigned spiritual reasons for it but the reasons are scientific. Your body goes into autophagy which is the process of cleaning out your body of junk proteins like a spring clean of your body. You feel very good afterwords. Significantly reduces your risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer's, dementia, etc. A lot of these illnesses are modern things that came about as our societies moved towards 3 meals per day, eating sugar, and eating seed oils which are highly inflammatory. Fasting was medicine before the drug store existed.

Be sure to take electrolytes if you’re fasting that often – especially sodium, chloride, potassium and magnesium.

Electrolytes are minerals that are essential for the normal functioning of almost all of your body’s systems and organs. Normally we get a steady supply of them with food and drink.

Your body has a small reserve of electrolytes stored in its tissues. But they deplete quickly, usually within the first 24-48 hours.

As soon as your body runs out of electrolytes, you will start feeling the symptoms of electrolyte deficiency. The most common ones are headaches, fatigue, irregular heartbeat, muscle cramps, nausea and just generally feeling unwell overall.

Where you eat nothing but coconuts and drink coconut juice for a few days. You can eat as many as you like. The more the better actually.

I fasted for nine days. Just water. First three were tough. Day four and five stomach stops producing acid so pains subside, energu increases. You also have a lot of time on your hands without meal prep. days six and seven started to realize I used food as a crutch and processed some realities about my life. Day nine heart was racing, due to my age I broke my fast. In hindsight I think I let myself get dehydrated. and that's why the heart racing. Would do again, but the benefit which is a enhanced immune system can be achieved in three days.
