Hello, I want to try calistenics and fasting at the same time. I heard benifits from fasting (I am noy doing it for spiritual reasons) and I want to try it. I used to excersice a bit (could do 40 push ups and did 100 squats at my "peak").
I want to get into excersice again yet this urge came back during me wanting to fast but I am a skinny frick (5'8" 150 pounds) and never bulked. Would fasting while getting into excersice frick me over or is it a good idea? please bless me with your knowlage fasting/fit bros.

Yes it will hurt your gains dummy why the frick would you fast? I have lots of muscle and fasting makes it vaporize. Calisthenics is not any different than weight lifting when it comes to eating. You have to eat food if you want to get better. Once you've built up some muscle and fat you can fast.

What is so wrong about calistenics? Is weighted work-outs the only respected way of doing it?
It's more difficult to build muscle with calisthenics. Calisthenics is a skill so your progress is limited by a lot more than "can I push this weight today." If you really want to do calisthenics but want muscle you should do both.

Don't do it. I did it and you lose all muscle. Fasting kills muscle mass. Read into it. Even fasting proponents Like Peter Attia stopped because it's so hard to maintain muscle while fasting (without gear)

Fasting increases your T levels and IGF-1 levels SIGNIFICANTLY. It's not 'you can fast while working out' it's 'you SHOULD fast while working out'
moron. those hormone increases are body's way of trying to maintain the existing muscle for a little bit longer so your ass still has means to hunt more food. the net effect from fasting is very much negative
