How long you been on it? The hard truth most don't wanna realize is that the vast majority of guys do completely fine and have no sides. Most male celebrities have been on it for decades, it's a safe drug. I've been on it for months with zero sides. To be safe, I gradually increased my dose, starting at 0.25mg and now I'm at 1mg and perfectly fine. Haven't had much regrowth but I can afford a transplant in a year or so. And by staying on fin I will keep the hair I have left.

I started taking fin before I was even losing hair. I just take small doses of it, 0.25mg every night before bed. It has definitely improved my hair texture. If anything the sides at the beginning slowly went away over time. My libido came back after a couple weeks of use.

There is no reason to take 1mg, that is overdosing on it. 0.5mg and less will inhibit your DHT to the same length as 1mg and the effect lasts for two days before DHT/5ar2 levels even begin to recover.
A good starting dose is 0.5mg MWF. This will absolutely cover you the whole week through and more. Finasteride ha a half life of 28 days in the tissues, meaning it accumulates easily in your body. It's out of the bloodstream in less than a day, but remains in the scalp and elsewhere much longer and can build up.

I tried to get on finasteride twice, but I learned the hard way that finasteride fricks with your GABA receptors. It gave me suicidal ideations, which stopped as soon as I went off fin, but they came back when I tried to start it again.
If you're depressed or have problems with anxiety, stay away from finasteride.
1 month or so of taking half a gram a week of pure DHT. Dick length is up 0.15" and girth is up 0.1".
I don't have the MPB gene and haven't lost any hair on it. But in my experience DHT is clearly quite important and blocking it might have bad effects. It's just a thought.

Taking 1mg daily finasteride is moronic - the studies clearly show that 1mg is WAY more than you need to get an effective dose, and the half life is like a month, so if you wanted to maintain a nominal level in the body you'd have to taper down dosage after initial dosing. I've yet to see one doc explain why 1mg daily actually makes physiological sense

Both scenarios resulted in similar hair outcomes

How long you been on it? The hard truth most don't wanna realize is that the vast majority of guys do completely fine and have no sides. Most male celebrities have been on it for decades, it's a safe drug. I've been on it for months with zero sides. To be safe, I gradually increased my dose, starting at 0.25mg and now I'm at 1mg and perfectly fine. Haven't had much regrowth but I can afford a transplant in a year or so. And by staying on fin I will keep the hair I have left.
I've considered a transplant to fill in my NW2 to a NW1 again but the reality of the money and travel required and then having your head all fricked up for a couple of months and then if you do get fin sides you're just gonna have to suck it up and deal with it cause if you stop taking fin all the non-transplanted stuff is gonna fall out around it and make you look like a mental patient just keeps me thinking maybe I'll just deal with being NW2 and keep it clean cut and styled right to look good enough on me.

There is no reason to take 1mg, that is overdosing on it. 0.5mg and less will inhibit your DHT to the same length as 1mg and the effect lasts for two days before DHT/5ar2 levels even begin to recover.
A good starting dose is 0.5mg MWF. This will absolutely cover you the whole week through and more. Finasteride ha a half life of 28 days in the tissues, meaning it accumulates easily in your body. It's out of the bloodstream in less than a day, but remains in the scalp and elsewhere much longer and can build up.

I don't have the MPB gene and haven't lost any hair on it. But in my experience DHT is clearly quite important and blocking it might have bad effects. It's just a thought.

Taking 1mg daily finasteride is moronic - the studies clearly show that 1mg is WAY more than you need to get an effective dose, and the half life is like a month, so if you wanted to maintain a nominal level in the body you'd have to taper down dosage after initial dosing. I've yet to see one doc explain why 1mg daily actually makes physiological sense

-Reduces DHT levels in the prostate by many times the reduction in blood (prostate has a lot of 5AR enyzmes for location production)
-Inhibits production of neurosteroids across the body that rely on the 5AR enzyme for production
Topical Finasteride (0.25mg topically, daily)
-Applies locally to the problematic area
-Reduces blood DHT levels by 30% (still tarded, should just use less and get this to <10%, im just pulling numbers from a comparison study)
-Results in mean blood finasteride levels of 50pg/mL at 24 weeks of use
Both scenarios resulted in similar hair outcomes
Even if topical doesn't work as well it's clearly the non-fricked way of using the drug (local application, minimal possible usage, minimization of total body uptake)
topical ends up going systemic eventually anyway, so it's really just more of a hassle for the peace of mind for people too scared due to online fear mongering. The 1mg daily is purely because that's what was used in the original merk study so its what got FDA approved as a proven treatment dosage
