First time i try working out and i'm moronic
How many sets and repetitions are enough?
say i do 3 sets of 15 pushups, and i really can't do more at the moment. do i stop there?
why not do it again later after a few minutes of rest? is this really enough for growth?

Oh... I thought you might have somehow accidentally posted here instead of in your little homosexual discord server. Your post was just so low quality and asinine, I had a hard time believing that a real person unironically sat down and wrote this shit, believing that it would be an appropriate thread to make. Google literally exists, you know? So why are you making a thread here asking to be spoonfed the most elementary knowledge?

Is making a thread on IST when you are a /fat/ /homosexual/ just your first instinct when a dumb mutt question appears in your little monkey brain? You couldn't even bother with any basic formatting when making the post, instead of using punctuation marks, you resorted to fricking reddit spacing. And of course, since your entire thread is based around your nonsensical demand to be spoonfed, you attach some completely unrelated anime image. Don't get me wrong, I used to like that artist's little Fujiwara meme images, but seeing some complete imbecile use them in such an uncouth manner has made me reconsider my feelings. Thanks for that.

But for real, is your brain really this fried? How about trying 3 sets of 15 pushups just once and see if there's any improvement? There isn't any complicated math required to check for improvement, you know? Just fricking try it yourself once and see if your max increases. You are a dumb mongrel Black person who needs to be put down before you hurt someone.

After saying this much though, I will answer your question; yes

Do you have a hard time forming coherent thought? You are making no sense. Also, have you heard of the saying "pot calls the kettle black", that's what's happening here with you calling me a 'cretin'. You better watch yourself, I would immediately recognize an imbecile like yourself if I saw you IRL, and when that happens I WILL beat the living crap out of your dyel ass.

I'm not ESL, unlike OP. I understand why you might think that, though. It's because you are a moronic gorilla Black person.

The only people that know what Reddit spacing is, are people from Reddit. You out yourselves every fricking time you bring it up.

IST has been shit since 2016 thanks to you fricks. You migrated here like locust.

10 to 20 sets a week per body part.

Since you are doing calisthenics and can't generate much stress you can work close to 20 sets per body part

You linear progresses by adding more repetitions each week. Also, work on variations of exercises.

3 sets of 15 is good for a beginner. basically, you want to keep pushing yourself while making sure that your form stays consistent each rep, so you can add more as you get stronger. if you feel up to doing more later, go for it -- if you are really completely new to fitness, keep in mind you will experience soreness in the coming days. just push through this, because your body will get acclimated to the increased activity and the soreness will become much less intense if you are consistent.
if you've only done push ups, look into other exercises you can do -- squats, lunges, pull ups and chin ups if you have access to a bar. also look in to push up variations so you can give your body a different stimulus. the most important thing is consistent effort, though.
