    for me it's the opposite. I lift but I'm pretty weak (never gone above 2 plate squat for example), but people are always telling me I look strong and asking if I lift

    Yeah you are right as in the muscle size and definition is not obvious with clothes on, but people will still say you look better than someone not working out. Your posture, outline, the way you move etc. people can't usually verbalize it but they will be aware of the fact that you somehow look better.

    This is also the source of female belief that they don't like guys who lift, the truth is that they really really do, it's just that they aren't aware that the guy is lifting.

    Just have decent arms and shoulders for upper body clothes, and for legs just don't have absolute toothpicks. Being the "jacked guy" doesn't take much effort unless you hang around circles of athletes and serious lifters

    I'm tall and have wide shoulders.
    Looking better with a shirt off is just a bonus at the pool, beach, and in the bedroom.
    Work on your shoulders, forearms, traps, and back more if people can't tell you lift with a shirt, or tailor your shit if it's that much of an issue for you, OP.
