actually there's a ruling that if you have nothing to eat but pork, and you will starve or die without it, it is actually haram not to eat it. you must eat it to survive as not eating it will be considered suicide if you starve and die. i really appreciated these rulings when i read deep into it. in Islam not everything is black and white. it is very merciful to your soul and temptations

partly. it is important to understand 80% of what you see as islam today is mostly arabian culture mixed with islam. tobacco is islamically frowned upon as it is considered hurting your health (it is a spectrum though with smoking, as one cigar wont kill you). it is just like with alcohol, it hurts your body (but alcohol is considered ritually impure, thats why it is completely haram). so culturally they will consider these businesses unlawful and destroy them. they also consider these business practices socially sickening, as they cause addiction within society. it is still an injustice islamically to hurt one's livelihood. it is islamically correct to guide them instead onto a better business practice. the link you provided is a special case of haram though, this is considered price gouging and taking advantage of people because of product scarcity. price gouging is haram. just like how woolies or coles price gouge food (or how medical items and toilet paper and bottled water were price gouged during covid times). it makes the vulnerable miss out on purchasing the item as the price becomes wildly unreasonable, that is why it is impermissible and the profits are considered unlawful

in islam there are two sects, sunni and shia. i am shia. look in both sects there is a lot of cultural crap. you cant turn a blind eye to that. however a lot of these practices originated after the death of the prophet. sunnis drink camel urine, it is not a shia practice. it is also important that a very small minority of sunnis drink urine. it is important to understand shias are not perfect either. they have their own embarrassments to deal with

you are not wrong. back in the day during the prophet's time, only the rich ate these big feasts, if they even fasted at all. i think it should be judged on a case by case basis. i personally try to eat under 1000 calories after fasting. i only drink water before fasting and dont eat. you should understand modernity and gluttony has sickened all customs and religions in the modern day. it is only natural that people will eat like animals when starved from food and water for 13+ hours a day. the fasts are still lawful but it kind of betrays the whole reason to fast. it is supposed to be a humble month where every bite and gulp is an appreciation for what you have compared to others
