How many reps/sets? Do I treat it like a diddly sets of 5 or do I go the RDL way 8-12?

I load up an easy bar and put 35s on. 8 to 12 has been working for me. you can also use dumbbells if they are close by.

You hold a barbell in your arms (pick it up off the floor at the bottom range of motion)

Put a barbell on your back like a highbar squat

Oh frick oh my god. I thought you’re supposed to go all the way down. My gym must think I’m moronic

Going all the way down is fine, it's preferable in most cases actually. Just set the pad to the correct height and you'll be good

Meme, just use a barbell like a normal person

My back is stronger than my neck. If you turn it into a neck exercise you're artificially limiting what you can do. Back extensions where the barbell is loaded on your back are safe and effective.

      Welcome to the party, pal

I put a barbell on my shoulders or hold dumbbells. Some boomers at my gym hold a 25 plate to their chest and "hug it" as they exercise

You don't. Unless you want low back problems.

Jesus no you morons, it's fine to go lower than horizontal, just do it slow and while keeping the lower back tight. Your own natural mobility has some play here but just don't go crazy. Start slow, at parallel, see how that feels and then try to work your way down. You're hinging at the hips, not allowing your lumbar spine to flex, so the tightness of your hamstrings has a lot to do with how low you can go here.

Never had that problem, but I've heard it helps to change the position of your feet so your toes point outward.
