My back is stronger than my neck. If you turn it into a neck exercise you're artificially limiting what you can do. Back extensions where the barbell is loaded on your back are safe and effective.
Oh frick oh my god. I thought you’re supposed to go all the way down. My gym must think I’m moronic
Jesus no you morons, it's fine to go lower than horizontal, just do it slow and while keeping the lower back tight. Your own natural mobility has some play here but just don't go crazy. Start slow, at parallel, see how that feels and then try to work your way down. You're hinging at the hips, not allowing your lumbar spine to flex, so the tightness of your hamstrings has a lot to do with how low you can go here.
How do you add weight to these
You hold a pl8
How many reps/sets? Do I treat it like a diddly sets of 5 or do I go the RDL way 8-12?
I load up an easy bar and put 35s on. 8 to 12 has been working for me. you can also use dumbbells if they are close by.
Mine has one and I don't use it
what if i drop it?
then the lift gets easier
You die

That's a cool lift but the I hate eminem so much it's unreal.
You hold a barbell in your arms (pick it up off the floor at the bottom range of motion)
Put a barbell on your back like a highbar squat
Going all the way down is fine, it's preferable in most cases actually. Just set the pad to the correct height and you'll be good
Hold a kettlebell behind your head.
Don't go heavy and do stupid shit like this
>Hold a kettlebell behind your head.
Meme, just use a barbell like a normal person

OHP at the same time
Welcome to the party, pal
I put a barbell on my shoulders or hold dumbbells. Some boomers at my gym hold a 25 plate to their chest and "hug it" as they exercise
You don't. Unless you want low back problems.
>source: I made it up
I rage every day that my gym doesn't have one of these benches
Oh frick oh my god. I thought you’re supposed to go all the way down. My gym must think I’m moronic
Projecting you ego's judgemental nature onto other random people is something you should let go of.
wait, you're not supposed to go all the way down?
wtf i've been doing it wrong for years

As a IST Huwyte boy, that pic is me when I get around black chicks
Usually just do sets of 20 after squats or deads, makes my hips and lower back feel much better.
that fixed my back pain forever
i love you back extensions
I prefer the GHR machine. I do 4x sets weighted on non-deadlift squat days.
Oldgay with rekt spine from years of hard manual labour here.
This exercise has been so gracious in helping my shit spine and pelvis.
this makes me feel like the back of my knees are gonna explode. how to fix?
Never had that problem, but I've heard it helps to change the position of your feet so your toes point outward.
I love deadlifts but doing these for 15 reps with a pl8 gave me the best (only) spinal erector pump I've ever had
Doing these with a sandbag and a rounded upper back gives me the best erector pump
dont let people know about the truth of rounding your back under light-moderate loads
That is truly the real dyel filter
>tfw do rounded upper back deadlifts from a deficit
It really is a cheat code.
LMAO the Planet Fatness I go to has a back extension machine. The machine maxes at 260lbs. It's not enough.
Same. Best exercise ever.
louie simmons was genuinely a creepy homosexual but he was right on the money with reverse hypers being a based exercise
