Getting fatter on carnivore?

I'm trying carnivore and not really losing fat, seem to be gaining it. When I was eating a paleo diet but still a lot of carbs, fasting for 24 hours once or twice a week would melt fat off. Now I’m doing OMAD, but still putting down 3000+ calories in that meal and gaining weight? Still haven’t gotten a full handle on my hunger cues...... just don’t feel hungry on ketosis. The other day I ate to satiety and it was 6000 calories (seemed a bit ridiculous, but most days I’m somewhere between 2500 and 3000). I’m 27, male, constantly moving throughout the day and weight lifting heavy two to three times a week. So what the frick am i doing wrong?

The elephant in the room is the agricultural diet we eat today isn't even remotely similar to what we ate 12,000 years ago. We're eating frankenfood genetically modified to be sweeter, grow in worse soil (thus less nutrition per pound), etc. Back then everyone would've been eating "raw" and local whereas today you'd have to quite rich to do the same.

Yes for example all bread used to be fermented (sourdough) which lowers the amount of carbs. This was the case until very recent history. Commercial yeast started being used in the 1900s to churn out more bread faster. Granulated dried yeast was invented in WW2 and then instant yeast was invented in 1973. Modern yeast works so fast you don't have to ferment the dough.

            google "Minnesota Coronary Experiment"
"Where we, the USDA nutritionists, called for a base of 5-9 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables a day, it was replaced with a paltry 2-3 servings (changed to 5-7 servings a couple of years later because an anti-cancer campaign by another government agency, the National Cancer Institute, forced the USDA to adopt the higher standard). Our recommendation of 3-4 daily servings of whole-grain breads and cereals was changed to a whopping 6-11 servings forming the base of the Food Pyramid as a concession to the processed wheat and corn industries. Moreover, my nutritionist group had placed baked goods made with white flour -- including crackers, sweets and other low-nutrient foods laden with sugars and fats -- at the peak of the pyramid, recommending that they be eaten sparingly. To our alarm, in the 'revised' Food Guide, they were now made part of the Pyramid's base. And, in yet one more assault on dietary logic, changes were made to the wording of the dietary guidelines from 'eat less' to 'avoid too much', giving a nod to the processed-food industry interests by not limiting highly profitable 'fun foods' (junk foods by any other name) that might affect the bottom line of food companies.
"But even this neutralized wording of the revised Guidelines created a firestorm of angry responses from the food industry and their congressional allies who believed that the farmers' department (U.S.D.A.) should not be telling the public to eat less of anything.
"I vehemently protested that the changes, if followed, could lead to an epidemic of obesity and diabetes -- and couldn't be justified on either health or nutritional grounds. To my amazement, I was a lone voice on this issue, as my colleagues appeared to accept the 'policy level' decision. Over my objections, the Food Guide Pyramid was finalized, although it only saw the light of day 12 years later, in 1992. Yet it appears my warning has come to pass."

It is the substance being measured which affects your biology, not the measurement itself. Calorie measurements tell you nothing about how obesogenic a substance is.

Whatever happened to eating at a deficit while on these diets. That's how it's supposed to work. What the frick is wrong with you people?

    >not really losing fat, seem to be gaining it.
    >putting down 3000+ calories in that meal and gaining weight?
    >I ate to satiety and it was 6000 calories
    >most days I’m somewhere between 2500 and 3000
    >weight lifting heavy two to three times a week.
    >So what the frick am i doing wrong?

    are you moronic?
youre eating too much and lifting too little

How the frick are you eating 6000 calories on carnivore? That's like 5 pounds of steak. You're not eating that much in a day.

Put down what you eat even for 3000 calories. Even for me 800 calories of ground beef keeps me full all day.

      >How the frick are you eating 6000 calories on carnivore?
Probably lots and lots of butter

        5+ sticks of butter? Yeah?
        You'd get sick.
Having done carnivore, binging is extremely difficult, it's one of the few diets where you're happy to put down the fork before you're done eating.

Butter isn't carnivore though. That's animal-based. OP is obviously a liar since he hasn't responded to any posts.

He's telling a fake story because he is a vegan who shills on IST all day every day. His name is moxyte and he has his own subreddit where he posts about the arguments he gets into on IST.

I hate vegans as much as the next guy but it's really weird how they obsess over keto and make their entire life around them, reminds me of TDS.

Veganism causes mental illness and they think keto is causing an animal holocaust. It causes vegans emotional distress to see how popular keto and now carnivore are.

Are you eating ribeyes all day like a dumbass?
Track your macros and P:E ratio bro.

    T. carnivore eating 180 protein a day with enough cals left to have some home made ice cream 4-5 days a week and not break the bank.

All this hula hoop diet and workout plans are on the same level as herbalife scams.
Want to lose weight? Eat less, do cardio.
Want to gain muscle? Eat more protein, lift heavy weights.
Do this consistently for an extended period of time, years even, and you will see results.
Everyone needs to shut the frick up.

Here's a life pro tip anon: just because you can dig a hole with a spoon doesn't mean you should.

All right, rather dig with a spoon but slowly and surely make progress than buy into whatever e-celeb is preaching.
And as always with these fad diet threads no one ever posts their body, goes to show just how effective these diets are.
For the record, you and everyone else is free to eat whatever the frick you want, but if you want to lose weight then you have to drop the fork and to accelerate it even more you have to burn calories be it through cardio or lifting. You fat motherfrickers could be given the miracle fruit of ultimate gains and fat loss but if you eat a truck load of it everyday you'll still end up fat.

It's hard but throw in cheese, a fat cut of steak cooked in a generous amount of butter, and some milk (raw since most carnies are schizos) and you can get there.

Dude, a 12 oz ribeye fried in butter is about 1,000 calories. You’re eating 3 of those in a single sitting. A whole cup of whole milk is only 200 calories. How do you even 3 ribeyes cooked in butter in a single sitting? Oh it’s cheese? Do you have any idea how much cheese that is? This is an absurd amount of food. How are you not ready to throw up when you finish eating? Carnivore OMAD done properly is like a single ribeye steak. If you are getting above 2,000 calories in a meal on carnivore you are doing something very wrong.
