because it makes my oatmeal taste like choccy milk
That's because of the flavoring, you can get the flavoring without the runoff
That's not scientific
I was looking at getting my next supply from protein factory, unflavored, decent prices and no added sugars
Gay reason. Grow up.
It used to be a cheap and easy way to consume bioavailable protein. These days it's more worth it to get real food. I suppose I'll concede that it was never necessary to consume whey.
Nothing wrong with choccy milk
are you 5?
fpbp
eat shit boomers
Unironically grow up. Acting like a toddler as a grown man isn't cute. The millenial basedjak stereotype exists because of people like you who don't like heckin adulting.
>grow up
no
>imagine a man
gay
>frogposting
you are beyond help
why would i want your help?
shut up and eat your plain oatmeal, grandpa
You're so gigachad and based for acting like a literal child.... said nobody ever.
NOOOOOO YOU CAN'T HECKIN SHORTEN CHOCOLATE TO CHOCCY CLEARLY YOU'RE A MANCHILD AND NEED TO GROW UP FOR ENJOYING THE TASTE OF CHOCOLATE MILK
Enjoying the taste of chocolate milk is fine. Doing baby-talk unironically is cringe.
It's just shortening a word. Your insecurity in how others perceive you is showing.
>It's just
Don't care. It's baby talk like "nuggies" or "tendies."
Ok. Enjoy getting mad over meaningless shit, dumbass DYEL Black person. I'm going to go eat some tendies and drink some choccy milk.
>dumbass DYEL Black person
I'm the mad one? I'd tell you that you'll grow out of it but you're probably a millenioid. good luck with that. Enjoy your "tendies."
Based. Nuggies, tendies and choccy milk all the way
I'm aussie and everyone calls it choccy milk. I can understand why someone from another country may perceive it as baby talk. We just shorten a lot of words and add a Y on the end.
>no you did the heckin' baby talk on 4chinz, you are now CRINGE and not BASED and cool like me!!!
>Unironically grow up. Acting like a toddler as a grown man isn't cute. The millenial basedjak stereotype exists because of people like you who don't like heckin adulting.
Umad
I thought it was funny that someone was accusing others of sounding like the soijak meme while unironically sounding exactly like a soijak themselves.
imagine a man you respect or your father talking about how much he likes "choccy milk".
You aren't getting or staying lean with that as a regular part of your diet. Also advanced glycation end products for you.
you cant stay lean with oats and protein shakes? wtf
Best reason. Keep eating shit haters.
This. I wub choccy-woccy because it feels soooo yummy in my tummy xD
this
if youre afraid of sucralose then theres fricking stevia/monkfruit options
My tum-tums gets sad if I can't get me choccy
You don't need whey but it's very easy to supplement extra protein. I don't bother buying whey because I can't stand the sucralose and nothing on the market uses actual sugar.
Why not just buy unflavoured whey and mix up some fine dust sugar yourself to get that?
only worth it if it is cheaper than getting real food, simple as
i buy unflavoured powder and just put raw cocoa or cinnamon or whatever in the water when doing a shake.
fugg this was for
I can't find any unflavoured unsweetened whey it's all fake sugars. Steviol is even worse.
>can't find any unflavoured unsweetened whey
Ive used this, its good
Guess I'll just have to buy isolate then make it drinkable. Really wish there were some options that just used sugar and not meme sugars.
Pic related has nothing in it but whey. You can add Whatever you want
I know, I was talking about flavoured whey protein. It's either boatloads of sucralose or steviol which both taste dreadful.
I'll pass on the whiskey thanks anon
Ah ok sorry I misunderstood you
Thanks for the recommendation anon, I'll probably just mix it when nesquik or something.
Yeah its pretty good. Good luck.
>I'll pass on the whiskey thanks anon
i chuckled
if you Europoor then Gymbeam has it, and probably myprotein as well
You dont want to. It tastes like powdered leeched mozzarella powder.
It's still highly processed, with a lot of risiduals of chemicals used to process it. It has a negative impact on microbiome and ruins your digestion in a long run.
Last, but not least, it can be laced with cheap roids. Works for girls and for guys on gear who get extra gear. But for a natty, you just turn off your test production without any benefits of actually taking hugh dose of roids.
All in all, it'a only an option when you can't afford real food at all. Now, when it costs more than real food, it's beyond moronation to use it.
>roid laced whey
Why would a whey manufacturer bother doing that? You think roids are cheap?
>You think roids are cheap?
They're cheaper than the protein powder LOL
Give me price listings then.
This is horseshit. No nationally recognized brand is contaminating their whey with steroids. If you buy some weird shit from a tiny nobody manufacturer making extreme claims, then that's on you for rolling the dice.
I even took the time to go through several FDA databases and search for cases on adulterated products, there were none. The only recalls on protein powders and similar products were for allergen related issues like undeclared onions.
The most recent related warning I could even find for potential steroids or steroid-like products in body building supplements was from 2017 and listed incidents from 2009-2016. And all of those products that were associated with liver injuries were from brands no one has ever heard of.
>It has a negative impact on microbiome and ruins your digestion in a long run.
Any evidence to support this claim?
Yes. Ot's no brainer that highly processed foods kill microbiome (you get the bad bacteria replacing tge good one to be more specific). Studies confirm that. Not done on protein powders specifically tho. But lots of people complaining how protein powders killed their digestion.
It's a very convenient way to get protein.
You actually dont. I realised this way too late. I was spending 65 euros per month on magic dust
The only reason whey exist is because it was at one point it was more economical than buying meat and not riddled with fraudulent products and fillers. Now it is at least on par with the cost of meat and only going up because it's food additive for slop +protein and riddled with fraudulent products because normies don't do consumer research. Also so many people trying use a shake to out lift a bad diet.
I would prefer it without the artificial sweeteners tbh, even if it tasted "worse" by most people's standards
In my europoor country I see no reason anymore. There's now milk based protein shakes with the same amount of protein or more, they cost less, taste better, and are even more convenient. Also available at supermarket. I ain't buying protein powder unless they lower the prices
>milk based protein shakes with the same amount of protein
How much fat/carbs in those?
I like the taste, it gers me more protein with supports muscle growth, and I (broadly speaking) do what I like to do. It's not complex
It's a cheap and convenient source of highly bioavailabile protein.
They come in shiny packaging that says how good the product being sold to you is. Also the product is solvent extracted and then bleached for extra purity and cleanliness. This is the future of food and it's so science I can't even.
Pretty simple really. Or are you one of the brainlets that's only concerned with macros?
>isopure
a fool and his money
Not an argument. Has God tier micronutrients profile and 0 carbs. Sorry to hear about your socioeconomic status though.
>Not an argument
Not everything is
I can afford isopure. I buy actual food tho.
As do I. I also buy isopure.
You plan your meals poorly, I don't.
>isopure
Just take a multivitamin, you mong.
Of course no one NEEDS to consume whey protein specifically. The same line of reasoning goes for any food product containing protein. There isn't any scientific reason why anyone would need to buy steak/eggs/pork/milk. The scientific reason would be the biological need for protein - as it is needed to build muscle and maintain normative bodily functions - where whey protein is one possible source of protein amongst many.
>steak/eggs/pork/milk
The difference is is that those are actual nutritional foods fit for human consumption while most protein powders are just processed goyslop marketed to skinnfats who are heckin eating big to get heckin big
cheap and convenient, but no, no one needs it, just eat more if you want
>I thought it was funny that someone was accusing others of sounding like the soijak meme while unironically sounding exactly like a soijak themselves
Yeah, that one doesn't really work.
whey isn't scary you pretentious redditor.
>The earliest secure evidence of cheese making dates back to 5,500 BC in Kujawy, Poland
Because it is easy to add protein to your diet and doesn't bother your stomach much.
Know whats easier? Eating two extra bites of chicken at lunch
Protein powder is not cost effective by price per gram of protein, but its not awful either. It's roughly middle of the road.
It has two things going for it: convenience and low calories per gram of protein. So it's a decent option for hitting macros on a cut, and its quick and easy. There is no need to use it, there never has been, and I doubt anyone would seriously claim otherwise.
But who gives a shit? If you want to use it, use it. If you don't, don't. And there's no reason to be a whiny homosexual if someone wants to do something differently than you.
Are you a euro? I pay $1.7 per 30 grams of protein for whey isolate.
If I use European I probably would have put the price in € instead of $, don't you think?
I live in Texas, HEB is the big regional supermarket chain down here.
Also, where the frick do you find protein powder that cheap?
Wait, that's not cheap. Apparently I'm too moronic to do back-of-the-napkin math in the morning.
It's much cheaper than your chart claims $1.7 per 30 grams seems very cheap . That's slightly over $3 per day assuming you don't double up.
$1.70 per 30 grams is $0.057 per gram, which is much more expensive (24% and 73%, respectively) than both proteins in my table.
Ok I'm moronic but now I'm really looking at your chart and very confused
>99cent drum stick
>16 servings
>Chicken
>$2
For meat, the chart uses price per lb, since packages will have different total weights. The servings is just ounces (16 per lb). Makes the calculations simpler.
And all the costco shit was just something I was calculating to determine if getting a membership and shopping there would save me money over the long run. The short answer is it easily would save money as long as I went regularly, even if I just bought all my meat there every week.
I'm poor so I shop at Walmart. I've heard mixed reviews about my go to protein Body Fortress, but the next step up would be iso100 which is just a few bucks more with 5 grams less and it seems to be universally well reviewed.
>18 eggs for $1.74
Where the frick do you live? The 1920s?
>Where the frick do you live?
MERICA
Texas. Does look like I need to update the chart though, they are $2.89 now based on prices on website. Granted they don't always match prices in the physical stores, so I'll have to double check this weekend. I don't update all the prices every week, just when I notice a big change. Guess I haven't been paying attention to eggs. Doesn't change its position much though, they are still only $0.027 per gram of protein.
Also always buy grade A eggs, they are cheaper than grade AA and the taste is the same. The only reason to use AA is if you care about presentation.
Boy only 2 things come outta texas
and i don’t see no horns on ya
Prices in Finland:
>ground beef with 10% fat is 10€/kg
>Milk is 0,8€/l
>oats 1,3€/kg
>chicken thigh (bone in)I 2,95€/kg
>cottage cheese 4€/kg
>greek yoghurt 3,6€/kg
Because there was a protein fetish in early 2000s.
Your post answers a question that wasnt asked
Mmm yummi shake.
Theres none. Ive never bought that shit nor did i ever care about protein yet I mog everybody even roiders. protein fixation is a DYEL trait and a marketing scam.
>Yeah, that one doesn't really work.
Good for cutting cause its fulfilling at a low caloric intake and absorbs super quick, so the time window for a fatty to cram more food down his gullet after finishing it is shorter than with other sources of protein that are slower.
If I eat actual food before an intense workout I can feel it sloshing around in my stomach unlike a protein shake
You say it like that's a good thing.
You don't like to workout with 10 lbs of chicken in your stomach?
>workout
Workout is a noun. You meant "work out"
You need a period on the end of that last sentence.
I believe you mean "at" the end of my sentence.
Actually I was wrong because it wasn't a complete sentence.
1% milk is cheaper and has basically the same calorie/protein ratio. Protein powder is a scam.
moron
IST is full of fatherless boys and this thread is proof
You're here too
See
Cringe
>they lace that shit with roids
Imagine being that stupid
which part do you have a problem with exactly?
>protein powder
nothing wrong with it. easily and rapidly digested, convenient.
>sucralose
sugar isn't bad.
the bad part of protein powders is the emulsifiers. there's only one brand I've found that doesn't use them.
>sucralose
>sugar isn't bad.
Sucralose isnt sugar
you're right. it's slop like emulsifiers.
either way I've always gotten unflavored whey without emulsifiers.
Okay?
I can't do dairy nemore it bloats the frick outta me. anyone else?
protein increases muscle mass and whey is the cheapest form of real (non vegan) protein you can get
>whey is the cheapest form of real (non vegan) protein you can get
Its not so
It is for me, cheaper than chicken breast
You just have to stop buying super expensive protein, mine costs 30 euro for 2kg
>he doesn't do grass fed whey
NGMI
Okay, to all the smartass anons on this thread, what foods can replace a scoop of whey protein if its that bad for you
Any lean meat
Okay, how much of that can replace a scoop, trips man?
About 4-5 oz of chicken (raw weight). Cooked typically is about 65-75% of raw weight, so very roughly 2.5-4 oz.
I buy unsweetened and mix it with yogurt, oats and milk.
I miss the times when you could get protein powder 10€/kg. 30€/kg for protein powder is not worth it.
I buy raw unflavoured for those days where I cbf cooking an extra meal or it just gets too late in the day and I have to shovel some shit down real quick.
I've been mixing casein with whey isolate. Tastes good.
Tried it for the first time yesterday and I nearly vomited
Theres a good chance it was the vanilla flavouring, but not a pleasant expirience all in all
First time I tried generic cheap protein powder it tested awful
Then i tried Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard (not shilling) and it tasted totally fine. No weird milk flavour.
Also try protein water, that also tastes different.
let me guess you morons mixed it with water
>Give me one single scientific reason
"Le science said it is... Le useless !!"
Shut up Black person. It is a cheap and convenient way to make my morning oats have 30g+ of proteins.
But does it make le oats taste like nummy choccy
Based morning oats enjoyer. Can't beat overnight oats with a cup of milk, scoop of protein powder, half a serving of greek yogurt and a bit of honey for breakfast
Bulk supliments hydrolized whey protien isolate cheap and pure
Only whey and a bit of sunflower lechen
Why get one with added bullshit .
I just chug. It anyway so it doesn't need to be sweet
