Why wouldn't I just do lunges instead?

      Anonymous

Because bulgarians isolate the lead leg entirely
Doesn't mean lunges are pointless but bulgarians are better for bodybuilding purposes.

        Anonymous

The problem with normal lunges is the momentum from traveling forward. It's easy and common to cheat with that. Reverse lunges on the other hand are equivalent to BSS mechanically.

because its a overrated piece of fricking glute builder you dyel homosexual

        >Because bulgarians isolate the lead leg entirely
untrue. The supporting leg does work to.

      Anonymous

Muscle is kept under tension during basically the entire BSS set rather than alternating legs. Unless you mean stationary lunges such as in the smith machine. Those are fricking brutal as well

        >stationary lunges
        Those are called reverse lunges.

Same. I do legs once every other week if I'm lucky and basically it's some half assed sets on a couple machines

        Anonymous

Yeah, I just don't care that much. Upper body workouts look better and feel better. I do just enough legs to remain relatively proportional.

          Anonymous

I train legs at least once a week. I don't do 2x a week frequency for it cause frick that, but I never train calves

FRICK calves. It's the most boring muscle to train. I do incline treadmill walks, if that does the trick for calves fine, otherwise I don't give a fuvk

I probably average 1.5 times a month. I should probably bump it up a little, but as I said above I find it really hard to care.

            Anonymous

Takes 10 minutes to train calves. Just put your hands against the wall and do calf raises to failure one leg at a time.

Based. I actually skip any exercise that indirectly trains the abs because it affects my stummy and I can't sleep.

I've been working out since 2009 or so, I just don't care about legs because I'm a man, not a woman. I don't even freeweight squat anymore and I haven't in years.

Hacksquat and maybe legpress if I'm in the mood.

Ok, you have no idea how little I care about your opinion. Back in the day we all skipped leg day then the gay ass "never skip leg day meme" started and now here we are.

we know its heavy and feels tiring but just do it homosexual

What I do keeps me proportional and biomechanically aligned. I don't give a frick about having a big lower body. Johnny Bravo looks GOATed.

Like I said I look proportional, I've been lifting over a decade, I just don't care to bulk my lower body. I do enough to stay healthy, which is like 1-2 times a month.

You could cut his leg size in half and he'd look just as good. If you cut his upper body in half he'd look like shit. Crazy how that works.

I do a lower upper split and while I'm mostly proportional, I have tooth pick arms and mediocre shoulders bc of it. I'm bulking up, but I'm thinking next year when I cut and go back to martial arts, I'll switch to 1x a week for legs only, with 2x upper body. That 66/33 split is probably better for aesthetics, I'm inclined to agree. did you learn it the hard way by getting a wonky physique or do you just not care anymore and maintian?

I hit a point where I was like "huh good enough" plus frick leg day boys honestly. Guys weren't as obsessed with it when I was starting out either so that helped. No one cared about their squat PR it was all about the bench. We were too far one way, but now it's going too far in favour of lower body IMO.

It was also probably a bit of conditioning. I had frequent upper body compliments but few people seemed to care about lower. Why half die squatting when you can do curls for the gurls.

Do enough to stay healthy and proportional once you get to a size you're happy with was my general outlook.

You may be going out to far on your working leg / Leaning too far forward / could be both.
If you step far enough with a good balance stance and sit straight up at all times it should work. This shit defeats me. But it can be great for that posterior chain on the opposite leg as well.

If you place a heavy weight on your back the spinae erectors are going to have to work regardless of how good your bracing is
