Have been considering getting a few specialty bars for my home gym. I've some spare cash and I have a long wingspan and long femurs, so my regular barbell is good but I could definitely get more gains with specialty bench or squat bars. Either a football bar with neutral grips for bench and an arch for extra depth or an SSB. I already do my squats heel elevated and squat onto a box, so I might get either soon. Any daddy long legs anons with experience on the SSB that could vouch for it?
I have owned an SSB for around a year, and I just don't like how much it adjust your form when compared to straight bar low squats.
I recently purchased a Buffalo Bar, specifically the Fringe Sports Longhorn Bar (which is supposedly a 1-for-1 copy of the Duffalo Bar), and it has made squats much more enjoyable for me.
I am 6'2" with almost all my height in my legs, and squat leverages suck for me, using this buffalo is the first time I have felt squats almost exclusively in my legs.
The camber puts the weights lower compared to you back like the SSB does, although not to the same extreme so you can still do low bar squats, and the camber also puts your hands/arms/shoulders in a stronger position to hold the bar.
I love my buffalo bar. I wish I would have bought one years ago.
Now I pretty much only use my SSB for standing calf raises.
I've been wanting to try one of those for years, but I've never seen one in real life. Really glad to hear it does exactly what I wanted from someone else with the same problems that I have.
I don't even bother with back squats anymore, even though I like them. It's all posterior chain and adductors for me.
because this is the literal first time I've heard of one
a balrog wouldn't bother waking up for your b***h ass
also most normie gyms don't have a SSB
why are you asking mongoloid questions
Here, Timmy, a moron barbell to complement your moron helmet.
Super Smash Bros squat?
safety squat bar
$500+, from good brands. I've seen cheap ones from questionable brands for around $300
You can get a really good one for $280
I am using a SSB. I bought one to replace front squats. I started having elbow issues with back squats and now SSB is all I do.
do you usually wear your moron helmet to do your heavy sets?
The only reason I don't use one is because I don't have one. I just elevate my heels a shit ton and call it a day
Damn didn't know IST hated making gains safely and efficiently. Oh well
>SSB
I just use these things instead of barbells now feels so much better. Can't imagine going back to a pleb squat now.
How much do these cost?
It varies but try to get it used first. Then disinfect the padding.
I have a home gym and was considering getting one of these or an Ohio bar
good for smol upper backs
do you have a smol bean?
My gym has one of these, except the handle bars also bend down like a "L" shape so when you squat down they stab you
it's upside down moron
Kek
Also sorry but I’m not buying one of these, try marketing elsewhere. Arnie was just trying to tell me to buy one this morning in his newsletter
is this the squat equivalent of a trap bar?
no you will lift less weight on this bar than on a straight bar.
I bet I could lift more than you could, cuh
Somewhat but nowhere near as cringe as trapbar deadlifts. I wouldn't use a SS bar in public but you have to be a literal pussy to trap bar deadlift.

Helped me squat deeper since it allows a more upright back. SSB is like doing frontsquats except easier. Remember to kind of push up on the handles
Literally herniated 2 discs in my back with this.
skill issue
I am flexible enough to front squat with clean grip and wrap my hands all the way around the bar.
pretty epic
Why aren't you just front squatting tho?
Somebody is running a deal on one..I saw it somewhere...might have been Titan Fitness or Rep Fitness on blackfriday deals.
Would be cool to have one if you frick up your shoulder.
Oooh good idea
Ah nice dude 6% off! Only $749.99!
Gym doesn't have it and if it had they would have one and it would be hogged 24/7 for doing some 100 lbs meme shit
Someone would hip thrust with it or something
>no posterior development
>glorified front squat
>look like a homo
>expensive and moronic to use
Any other questions?
