          true, though i've always opt for cheap cuts (not tender enough for steaks, not tough enough for stews) like eye round, rump, and chuck eye, all of them are pretty lean as well

      A piece of steak doesn't shrink when you cook it. If I put pork in a pan; by the time Im done, its shrunk and tough to eat.
      Chicken is fine; you can put anyrhing on it and it tastes okay.

                i don't know anyone irl that eats "steak", as in, putting a slab of meat on the pan and then just cooking it, it's always cut up or minced and then added to something else like a goulash or bolognese

              alright well for your personal edification, saying you've never had steak because you're not american is like saying you've never had cheese because you're not french. You may have correctly identified the people most enamored with the food but you still just come off as ignorant. I'd recommend you go to the butcher and get a 2-2.5cm ribeye and cook it properly. If you want to do a full cowboy yeehaw larp, look up creamed spinach and fully loaded baked potatoes. If you want to do it like a normal person, steamed asparagus and roasted/mashed potatoes will do just fine. If it tastes sweet to you, rest comfortably in the knowledge that you're the one special boy that finds beef sweet. Otherwise, welcome to the real world. Oh and a little bit of roquefort on top of your steak never hurt anybody
