guys holy shit i always workout but ive intentionally been in a caloric deficit for MONTHS. like since August. ive seen no fat loss at all. the progress pictures look exactly the same. im gonna start measuring myself but im getting really exhausted chugging protein shakes and eating the same chicken and rice everyday and not seeing ANY RESULTS. WHAT DO I DO OMG. im so tempted to like skip meals but i dont want to lose muscle mass.

i lift 4-5 times a week, run 2-3 miles a day if the weather is good, and walk for anywhere from 30mins-2hrs while i do work. im so frustrated bc i used to just do one of these things a day. NOW I MAKE TIME TO DO ALL OF IT IN ONE DAY. AND I LITERALLY LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME.

i dont drink alcohol, i sleep 7-8 hrs, i feel like i do everything ppl say you shoudl do.

am i missing something??? im going to travel in april so i have 3 months to lock in, any advice would be much appreciated.

      this is so dumb. i've had the same experience, all it means is that resting energy expenditure went down. CICO sucks as a strategy, thermodynamics still preserved as it always is. grow a brain

    How many calories daily? Have you tried using an evolving calorie count based on scale feedback? Do you even look bad to begin with? 5'2" 125 isnt even that bad.

    go on a 28 hour fast, drinking plenty of water with minor microworkouts through the day and light cardio
    break the fast with something easily digestible
    stop eating rice, replace rice with root moss,root mash or whatever its called in english
    2-3 tbsp Butter
    1 large turnip
    2-3 carrots
    4 Floury potatoes
    Ground allspice
    Ground cloves

    supplement vit c,d, zinc, magnesium
    stop taking contraceptives
    buy a larger squatplug

      morning cardio fasted +30-60min a minimum of 3 days a week
      do legday twice a week, do less physical if youre feeling fatiqued to make sure youre at least consistent with the cardio
      increase size of squatplug as you progress

    Post food moron.
    A protein shake is a lot of calories. Specially with (whole?) Milk. Chicken and broccoli is fine. But how do you prepare it? Baked in oils? (90calories of oil is the size of a spoon)
    What does you plate look like? Packed to the brim? How many meals and (calorie dense)snacks in-between?
    Leave sports out of your daily intake. It's non measurable and just an small extra.

    CICO claims another victim.
    When you reduce caloric intake and increase exercise, your body adapts primarily by reducing basal metabolic rate instead of burning fat, as burning fat is a very slow process, due to white adipocytes containing few mitochondria.
    This entire process is very damaging to your health.
    You have to better your metabolic health by increasing mitochondrial function, capacity and biogenesis.
    What you want to do is water fast repetitively for a few days on and off, eat very few carbohydrates/sugar and most importantly, eat big on the days you do eat on. Do not train beyond very light activity while you fast (walking and such.) Train heavily on the last day on the fast, right before you break it.
    This will induce noticable lean tissue growth and fat loss within weeks.
    Oh and scrap the chicken broccoli rice combo, it is terrible for what you are trying to do, you need a source of healthy fats
    tl;dr calorie counting doesn't always work because your body can go into energy retention mode from extreme metabolic stress, when you actually want it in fat burning mode with a high metabolic rate
    if you want it in fat burning mode, then you have to force it into fat burning mode - you do this hormonally through your diet

    What do you typically eat in a day? Include food type/quantity/preparation method
    What is your Age/Height/Weight

    You're 100% overeating. That's for sure. Curious where the calories you aren't accounting for are coming from. It's extremely easy to underestimate things like oils and drinks. Example if you have eggs for breakfast and you cook them with butter you need to add the extra calories to your eggs. 1tsp of butter is like 100kcal so it adds up fast. A lot of proteins are shit too. Gotta find one with good macros. God forbid you accidentally bought a gainer shake lol. I know a guy who did that.

    For one, stop eating breakfast. Its the easiest thing you can do to instantly decrease your calorie intake by several hundred calories
    Second, I highly recommend counting calories
    Remember that when youre at a calorie deficit, your metabolism drops, so you need to drop your calorie intake even more after you adjust
    Third, post boobs
