Right now I use Airpods but I really want to make the swap to full headphones.

AirPods Pro 2nd Gen bc anc is godly and for heavy lift days i got the SkullCandy Crusher Evo bc bass is mad and i love that bass.

are the worth it? yeah, very good sound and anc, but from what a friend told they arent the best in the gym as theyre heavy and make you sweat (also bc of that the cup of the headphones starts to stink as the foam absorbs the sweat)

im strongly considering xm4s but these are half the price so would be sick
usually im using them with only 10% bass and they sound amazing, all you need to do is get the app and set up the custom eq and its just bomb. couldnt be happier (have them for over a year now, no problems with them at all and super satisfied)
This. I have the xm3's and doing ohp with them was horrible and the amount of sweat after a workout was infuriating. Just stick with the earbuds.
Can vouch. Forgot to pack my earphones this morning when leaving for worksite and had to use my xm3s at gym after work. Sweatyness was so ass. Also while doing pendlays they felt like they were about to fall off after some reps.
I sweat a lot, have lots of ear wax and weird ear canals that reppel IEMs. What should I get instead? I don't want to work out in bulky over ears.
I use Powerbeats at the gym for similar reasons.

Don't use headphones. You will sweat balls around your ears and have to switch the earpads every few months because they start to stink.
This, I love my headphones for around the house doing chores but I never understood full headphones in the gym. I usually buy mid range buds that wrap around my ear so I don't have to worry about them coming out.
All that being said I love my JBL tune 750s

30 pounds and are extremely good audio quality. Has some basic noise cancellation also. Battery is a bit ass (12 hours) but apart from that I love them to bits. Has a cute catgirl in them that I lift for. The ANC isn't as good as my Airpods pro 2 which basically make you deaf to the outside entirely, but I gave them to my girl.
I don't use them. I just politely tell the owner of the gym to turn off the top 40 hits so I can enjoy the sound of iron.

They are compact, very good battery (best in any headphones I had) and excellent noise cancelling.

maybe like 5 or so years ago skullcandy had a good pair of workout earbuds called the Skullcandy Method. You can’t get those anymore but you can get a pair of refurbished “Skullcandy Set” earbuds for like $10 on amazon

Sorry anon I was mainly flossing on Apple shite. I've used the XM4's very briefly at my friend's house and they were good. I usually run studio-reference stuff like Sennheiser HD 560S though, not the bass-heavy stuff people like. I would also never work out in over-the-ears ever again. Wireless in-ears are the best for my sweaty ass. They should last a while being Japanese Sony I'd imagine.

Some time ago I bought Sennheiser true momentum 2 earpods when they just came out.
An year later, a full charge on them only lasted 10mins, 15 mins if I'm lucky. After that I had to recharge them.
Are earpods just a scam? I had wireless headphones before and never heard trouble with battery even when my headphones were cheaper and much older than the earpods.

Headphones are trash for working out. They feel disgusting. You would need a open design that sits on your ears instead of fully over them, but only Black folk think that is acceptable to wear in public and blast their shitty music to everyone around them.
Try a foam tip before dropping hundreds on some headphones. Foam tips helped me out a bunch. The XM4's seems super bass heavy which kills my interest in them, plus headphones I just worry about the longetivity of them. at-least bluetooth earbuds I can trade in for new ones.

I literally notice almost zero people with OEM's. It's almost entirely AirPods or some kind of android variant, or nothing.
Over-ear headphones and white high top Converse seem to be huge with the zoomers at my gym. Granted, I go to a big mainstream chain so that’s probably why.

I wear over ear headphones because I can't find a pair of buds that actually stay in my ears. I've tried 6+ brands over the last 2 years and nothing stays on. I'd prefer nothing but my gym plays the same 10 songs over and over and it's a drag.
Ear cups are replaceable btw but the time you waste arguing trivial bullshit on IST is not.
buds are scientifically proven to destroy your hearing unless you listen to them at a very quiet volume, while over the ear allow you to listen at a louder volume without destroying your hearing.

I have them, sound is good & so is the battery. The noise cancelling is very good. The cushioning feels gross when sweating though. Overall would recommend, but if you already have airpods I don't see the point in switching unless you really need noisr cancelling.
