I do get the general sense that we are entering a more chaotic time from what I've seen and read

But when I go outside it is just a lot of grass and trees and water and birds and sunshine and shit so it just seems so far away

      Been sick, haven't been.

Agreed. Some bloke even smiled and greeted me on my walk this morning. To be fair, there was also a homeless guy telling everyone to fuck off as well,

Absolutely. It's mostly first timers fucking around and not following basic rules in the gym. Had some maybe 5'3" asshole staring at me and my gym buddy and walking up really close behind us during deadlifts. I have no idea why he was staring but every time I looked up he was at a different station lifting barely anything and staring at us. Lots of people in jeans, lots of people that look absolutely lost and have no idea what to do. Spotted a group of zoomers talking and passing around 25 pound dumbbells.

      >jeans

      bro what?

yeah always chaos with new years stuff

I lift at the uni gym and all the undergrads are still out of town for winter break. There were like 8 people in the gym today (all regulars). It's max comfy right now. It will turn into a hellscape once the semester starts and thousands of skeletons descend upon the building thinking that this semester will be the semester they finally get jacked. But they'll be gone by mid-February.

that's why I do home gym very comfortable but still work very hard

I can just roll out of bed and start lifting a lot of time can't go to gym without getting dressed

Boomers doing wrist curls on the bench with the barbell.
Boomers do tricep push downs on the lat pull-down machine.
Boomers using the back extension machine for abs, when the gym has an ab crunch machine.
A fat lady lying stomach down on the free bench curling her legs up during the gym rush hour, there's a machine for that and it was open.
Skeleton tier zoomers with a gallon of water doing 40lbs on different machines with 5 minute rests.
Zoomer doing clean and jerks in the squat rack while the platform right next to it was open.
Boomer doing overhead tricep extensions except he couldn't move the weight so his arms stayed in place while his body went forward.
People swinging ez bars like their kettlebells trying to curl 40-60lbs or they only move their arms from 90 to 89 degrees

I am smarter and have less brain fog. So no, my (home) gym is getting less retarded.

Haven't seen that one yet but I have seen db pressing on the bench press along with doing Bulgarian squats while there's open benches by the dumbbell rack

not really something weird is going on.
Theres a few new zoomer packs, two girls, two guys. But the weird thing is I haven't seen most of the regulars in like 1-2 weeks (since Christmas).
I haven't seen the oly lifter pajeet, haven't seen the middle eastern old ''arnold era'' boomer bodybuilder, haven't seen the sikh ottermode lanklet who does bro-split, haven't seen the mma fighter guy who looks like he's from a limp bizkit gen x'r 90s style book.
Only a few regulars have shown their faces so far. Gym's been looking like a desert.

Saw an old Asian man today using the leg extension machine. He was only pushing his legs forward like a centimeter, enough to engage the mechanism without the actual weight lifting up, and then he relaxed. He did like twenty reps.

Nothing crazy. Just the usual 4-5 new women in brand new workout clothes who won’t be there by the time Feb rolls around.

Uni gym, don't think people travelled back yet. Very few people in general, none of the regulars. With some luck people are too sickly from being gigaboosted + exposed to all the pathogens circulating during the holiday gatherings, and we can skip the new years rush this year. My gym is usually packed at normal hours anyway, literally have to stand in queue at peak times to get a fucking rack (they have 15+ racks).

Havent been to a gym since new year, I use home equipment. Honestly if I was DYEL Id still have enough self-respect to not start physical improvement at January like the rest of the weak-willed lemming npcs. Planning to hit the local gym tomorrow because there is stuff I cant do at home and I surely hope the majority of them are gone already.

      lmao

New guy doing isolated dumbbell curls with the bench so close to the rack he was probably getting a good whiff of my balls and ass every time I went to get or rack the dumbbells.
Chunky young women wandering around, not really knowing what to do with themselves.
Older women in the ab area not working out but talking and cackling so loud you can hear them over the shit gym music clear to the other side of the building.
Some young dude apparently into "homeless veteran" roleplay doing I don't even know what with dumbbells seated on a bench, M-51 parka zipped up to his chin.
Countless people with the lost look on their faces that the lions have separated them from the rest of the herd and now they're patiently awaiting death.
    General clusterfuck and traffic jams.
Other than than, nothing too weird...yet.

    February can't come soon enough.

Literally no. I just got out after deadlifting, and the dude behind the desk asked me how my holidays were with the utmost sincerity.

My gym is so comfy. I finally started getting comfy and talking to people here and there. I was super quiet so people have literally started coming up to me to start conversations. It’s max comfy and it’s nice to start making friends. I even helped this female move a bench today and it was so clean how I did it and went right to my workout and didn’t really say anything. Idk about your area but I’ve never felt more comfy than I have lately at my gym.

used to train with bodybuilders and they were really chill people

honestly people who are super jacked don't have to act tough or anything and are pretty chill generally

I've noticed a ton of young fat girls on the cardio machines lately. They barley move while staring at their phone. It's quite sad to see. They'll be gone by February though.

Just non-lifters camping out on bench press and squat racks for 30+ minutes lifting 50lbs doing weird stretches, shoulder shrugs and other nonsense they don’t need those stations for. and a whole bunch of new fat girls on treadmills but they don’t get in the way so I don’t care about them.

I go to two gyms, one is a hole in the wall type gym with serious lifters where you have to be approved by the owner before you can become a member (he just wants to make sure you're not retarded and not going to be a nausance in the gym, otherwise he'll tell you they aren't taking anymore members) when I'm here I am humbled and always being out lifted and out sized. We have serious guys who deadlift in the 700s and compete in strongman competitions. Everyone knows what they're doing. Everyone is respectful and is there to work.

The other gym I go to is the local YMCA, partially because I love mogging everyone, partially because I like to incorporate swimming into some of my workouts. At this gym it is a fucking circus. You see it all. Fragile egos. Noobie gain tough guys who eye you up and think theyre tough because theyre starting to see muscle development. Bloated 30 year olds who have that 'didn't quite make it' look to them who think they're strong benching 2pl8s for a 1RM until I come into the gym and warmup with 2pl8s. Roid monkeys who can barely Squat 275lbs to depth for 5 reps, and all the clueless lost dyels in between. There was a fucking dyel doing pushups and Inverted Rows with the Barbell in 1 of 2 power cages. There is no where else to Squat or deadlift or overhead press and he's using 1 of 2 of the cages to do calisthenics while there is literally a place in the gym to do calisthenics with rings and shit. It honestly blows my mind how many people lack self awareness.
