That's all there's really to it. It's just genetics. Some people get acne from anything and everything and some people never get acne no matter what. It sucks. People with normal skin can literally rub dirt on their faces as camo and never get any pimples from it.

    Yes, for the most part.
    >quit dairy
    >quit fast food
    >quit processed sweets
    >2-3 liters of water per day
    >consistent 8 hours of sleep per day
    >daily pillow cover change
    >wash face with cerave blemish control cleanser
    >0,5% retinol cream at night (work your way up with weaker concentrations)
    >moisturizer with UV protection in the morning
Quitting dairy was by far the biggest thing for me. I was doing creams and pillow case changes for a long time before, still had acne. Your experience may be different, acne triggers vary greatly between people. It's best to do an elimination diet that includes food groups you're most suspicious of, quit them for 4 months, if you see an improvement, reintroduce one of the groups to see if the problem comes back, repeat.
    >inb4 dairy good
Dairy is the #1 acne trigger for most people. There are people who eat it and never have acne. But if you do have acne, it should be the first thing to be suspicious of. It sucks, I like dairy, i miss whey, cheese, skyr, getting enough calcium is harder, etc. But I've been dealing with acne since early teens and I am done looking like I'm still in puberty.

yes I had to go on accutane from cystic acne I had from 15-24yo. It's literally the only thing that worked. I spent my younger years as incel because of it, and now I'm a shut in. Wonder how things could have gone differently if I had parents that cared enough to get me to a derm for it.

It would be useful if our body could tell us what's causing it, unfortunately there are millions of things that could be causing it, you can't troubleshoot each thing for months on end, you wouldn't have enough with a lifetime to find what the issue is.
With all the shit that we ingest/inhale/come to contact with in society, if you don't have genetics to help your skin the only thing you can do is use isotretinoin and skin-care.

I'm at the point where I know I eat shitty food I'm gassy as hell from my gut going crazy from the awful shit in there fighting me. Also what's underrated and just as important as a healthy biome is not eating foods that nuke your gut bacteria as well. (See artificial sweetener)

Don't touch your face/pick your face throughout the day. Wash your pillow cases and your phone screen, don't let dirty objects touch your face.

      Anonymous

It does have some warnings, typically you should monitor your mood while you're taking it, and it might be best to avoid it if you have a history of depression, but being fugly is a well known cause of depression so it might just be better for your mental health to not have a giant zitstorm where your face should be

      Anonymous

It can cause depression and some anxiety but bad acne can also cause both of those conditions. I was on Accutane and it completely cleared my cystic acne in 6 months and left no noticeable scars (don't pick your zits). It made my depression and anxiety worse for the duration but I'm glad I went through with it. Acne alone can really frick you up especially in your formative years when looks are a high priority for many.

I did, unfortunately it took me until I was like 17 to figure it out, and by that time my skin was permanently fricked up (not a lot, but enough to annoy me when I look in the mirror). I basically had pizza for a face during middle school but my parents wouldn't take me to a dermatologist.

What I have noticed actually making a difference is

Came here to say this brother. Folliculitis is a fricking nightmare. Sometimes it flares up sometimes its not a problem at all. Literally can't figure it out. It affects my scalp and back more than anything. The best thing I've learned to do is just NOT EVER TOUCH IT. It always spreads when I feel around for them. No idea how I got it, but it's been fricking years. Luckily it's not nearly as bad as people I've seen online. Still sucks ass though. When you get a haircut make sure it's never skin tight. Tell the barber to keep some length.

    - cut out shitty oils (the good ones are olive, flaxseed, coconut and hemp)
    - moar water

    - drop dairy products for a while and see if anything changes
    - buy better quality food (especially veggies & meat), not the cheapest shit you can find.

if you take yourself seriously, do a 3-day water and salt fast then start by eating only quality beef from your local butcher. already acne should stop. then slowly add other foods starting with eggs and butter, then maybe leaves and roots, etc.. you eat something new and get acne then you never eat it again.
