haven't been to the gym in over a month

I know the obvious solution is to "just do it" but depression and stress have hit me like a truck and I feel so useless. I can't sleep and lay awake until 3am and wake up around 12 in the afternoon. feels so shit I can see my gains fading away. I feel emaciated. What's the best way to give yourself a kick up the backside when you feel useless like this?

Do you have a job or are you off for Christmas holidays from college?

I'm sort of in the same boat right now. Been very depressed and low confidence past 3 weeks.

The problem with that sadness you get from not going to the gym is that the more you won't go, the sadder you'll feel, making you not wanting to go even more.

why are you depressed? what are you stressed about?

unfortunately you have to just do it.

if your depression is too bad, get some ketamine and have a k-hole EOD for 2 weeks.

seeing as you're posting here about this and crying without having told us anything about what you've done to fix things though makes me believe you are another defective subhuman that is NGMI. but only you decide this, my impression doesnt matter.

suck it the frick up and get on with it. no one is going to help you. you can either stay a loser or become a fuarking sick kunt, time is running out and the longer you stay in this place the deeper the hole will get.

Power needs to come from within, so yes, just do it. I had like 2 weeks rest when I was barely leaving bed, just waking up, replaying Witcher games for 16 hours, going to sleep. Got myself lazy, but recently I forced myself to do intensive cardio and felt much better immediately. Now I'm back on track. I know that it's difficult to get out of that state though it looks pretty simple, you just have to do it

Keep whining on IST. It'll work eventually, just stick with your routine.

set an alarm for a date and time you know you will be free. you cant just do it when you feel like it because you probably wont for a while. just set an arbitrary timer and lift when it rings.

For me, baby steps and slow exposure therapu helps.
I've also been putting off going to the gym for at least a week until today. What helped was that I did push-ups and pull-ups at home yesterday which is enough for me if I do enough reps. Then today I just had to dissociate myself and get myself in the gym and I only had to legs/cardio.
Take it one day, one step at a time.

Eh I've been there. You know the answer really is "just go idiot", but I know it takes a while to get there. If I were you, I would get myself to start going now so people don't think I'm a NYR noob.

I've been going in and out of this for like 6 months; no steady job despite hundreds of applications. Can't afford the christmas gifts I want to and am starting to struggle with rent. My industry's job market has crashed. Honest to god the only thing that's been keeping me even partially sane is the gym and my boyfriend.

Start doing body weight exercises again. You can do a bunch of push-ups and situps in 5 mins. Could even do burpees for cardio as well. Then worry about the gym.

You’re not going to be able to give your self a kick and kickstart yourself from where you are. The gap is too big, so you need to shorten the gap.

What that could mean is tomorrow, you don’t set yourself the task of going to the gym but just driving or walking to it and going back. No commitment, then the day after you go in and then out and build from there. Sounds gay but sometimes you just need to make the smallest step easy for yourself and go from there s

I can't relate to this feeling. I feel agitated and depressed the days where I cannot keep to my gym routine because of other obligations or holidays. Like next week I'm going to be depressed Christmas eve because it's a Sunday night and that's one of my nights.

Go to do a half workout. Or just a little of your favorite. It doesn't matter how little you intend to do, anything is better than not going. No one gives a shit if you show up, deadlift once, and leave.
