Humans aren't born with a set number of heartbeats you schizo.

Yes they are. The more you exercise, the less you will live.
This of course, taking out other variables.
If you eat healthy and are sedentary, you wont get fat and will live a long life, whereas if you do the same but exercise, you will live less. And not only that, but you are likely to experience joint pain and other conditions.
Now, by sedentarism I dont mean laying in bed all day. Walking outside at a comfortable pace or even just chilling on a bike and doing stuff like sweeping the floor can still fit into a "sedentary" lifestyle. But the thing is they arent strenuous activities like true exercising is. Stress reduces your lifespan. The french woman who lived to 122 said it herself: my secret? I never worked"

>"my secret? I never worked"
That doesn't mean don't exercise. It means don't stress. Stress will kill you faster than anything.
Cardio also lowers your resting heart rate.

Exercise is stress. Look at the faces of people litfting or jogging, its pure stress.
A high heartrate is caused by being fat, you wont be fat if you eat healthy. Its not caused by "lack of exercise".
Also anon, look into Jim Fixx, he is the man who made running popular a few decades ago. Was always talking about how cardio will reduce the chances of heart disease.
Died at 52, of a heart attack.

If you live a sedentary lifestyle you'll have a high resting heart rate. It doesn't matter what you eat. Your heart is a muscle like any other and can atrophy.
The body is made to go through short bursts of strenuous activity. The stress caused by working a 9-5 puts your body in a state of constant stress.
One guy with a genetic predisposition to heart failure running non-stop is not equal to a normal person doing an hour of cardio every other day.
My uncle lived a sedentary lifestyle but ate healthy. He died before he got to 50 of a heart attack and fluid buildup in his lungs, but my father who worked doing heavy lifting is somehow clinging on despite smoking and boozing his whole life. The doctors gave him 5 years left to live 9 years ago.

I'm sedentary and I have 70 bpm. Why would I then go and get my heartrate up to like 180 bpm for 90 minutes? Its completely nonsensical.
You people need to stop thinking food is this secondary aspect and that hitting the gym is the important thing. The molecules in your body are made of what you eat, its extremely important.
What was this "healthy diet" of your uncle if you dont mind me asking?

If your resting heart rate is 70 bpm then your average heartbeats per day should be around 100,800.
If you do cardio your resting heart rate is usually around 50bpm. Taking into account the increased heart rate during exercise, that leaves your heartbeats per day at around 85,800. And that's if you do an hour of cardio every day.
I never said diet was secondary. Just saying that cardio is good for heart health.
My uncle ate mostly whole foods. Very little processed foods. Meat and veggies. Only time he had anything unhealthy was when he visited my grandmother.

you even agreed me with on that, its just that you believe exercise isnt "stressful" even though by seeing at the faces of people doing it you can tell thats not true

You're wrong and everything in scientific literature points against what you say. You can not compare chronic mental stress to moderate exertion.
You're just going to keep moving the goalposts so this discussion is pointless.

NTA but the modicum of stress I experience during physical exertion is well worth it because of the absolutely sublime feeling afterward. Especially with stuff like sprints

Apparently powerlifting is cardio now. And again, short term physical stress =/= chronic mental stress.

Lifting weights has always been cardio. It shoots up your heartrate, how is it not cardio?

You must be a lowly DYEL doing more than 12 reps per set or one fat frick, to get your heart rate up from lifting

You must not lift heavy. There is no way to do a heavy set of squats without getting your heart rate up and breathing hard.

Because the focus isn't solely on your heart, and it won't raise your heart rate as much. You're working all the muscles in your body. People usually lift to look good.
The best form of cardio is swimming imo. All the heart health benefits without risking wearing down your joints. Although jogging did actually reduce my knee pain after about a month. It's clearly beneficial as long as you don't overdo it.
The type of stress that kills you is chronic stress. It constantly puts your body in a state of fight or flight when it isn't necessary. This disrupts your body's ability to function normally. It also really fricks up your digestive system.
The type of people who live long lives (and more importantly, are independent in old age) are happy, have a healthy diet, and practice things in moderation. I work in a nursing home so I see the people who don't age so gracefully. Remember to exercise your brain too.

why does running feel like such absolute shit and make my teeth hurt?
Its what happens to total newbs
Because it's bad for you
>Cardio is bad for you
One of the most moronic statements you can make on earth. Congrats.
It is. Its literally just wasting heartbeats for no reason at all. The only justified cardio is running away from a criminal.

Because humans arent made to run. Every activity that feels like shit is unnatural and should be avoided if you care about health.

not him but when I run and it's not a hot day my jaw muscles and gums starts hurting
you have to build your aerobic base first, then it's fun.
