Hey IST. Canceranon here. Just had a jtube installed. It's basically a tube that pumps milkshakes directly in my small intestines. I know it sounds bad but it's not too bad. I had it installed Monday and am still a little sore. I can still eat food by mouth I was just so fricked up from naseau and vomiting I had to go to the er. It took them all week to get my potassium back to baseline. My hands literally clamped like lobster claws with rubber bands and my body started tingling.
The tube isn't that bad. You set this pump to the volume and amount over time. It takes a while but I can get in 1000s of calories a day. It's mostly milk, whey, onions, and other shit like fish oil. It's actually pretty legit. They also manually feed me supplements like bone broth designated for bolus feed (manual).
They cleared me to discharge the hospital after 11 days I'm just waiting for them to deliver my pump and formula for home feeding.
The pump actually has a 18 hour battery so I don't even have to meal prep just grab my formula and I'm always feeding even out and about. I haven't done the math because I'm phonegayging this week but I think it's around 100 grams of protein in 14 hours although that could be way under. They design this shit good. Shoot out to the dietic8ans at the hospital they are actually really smart not just tag-a-longs. They actually saved my life.

They also give me bolus (manual) shots of this beef bone broth supplements that are like instant 20g protein. I actually have a lot of options with my insurance and dietician. All my meds are liquid bolus shots now.
If you Google the formula you can see the ingredients and macros on the manufacturer website. It supposedly can sustain life forever although it's not real fricking food like rich would say. I'm basically a fricking vampire at this point. Like I said I can still attempt to eat and everything works normally it's just I had stomach cancer and my shits been fricked and I lost weight and vomited so much I couldn't use my hands. Your oncologist is an idiot, and is feeding you poison and your reasoning is low IQ and suspect enough to assume you've been vaxxed because of someone with a prestigious title giving their "opinion" . My wife had a three lumen port for about a year. Fricking pain in the ass.
She would have to go in once a week to get the bandage changed. I had to do it once or twice and the nurses were okay with it. The doc, not so much.
You at least type like you're in a good spot. That's a good sign. It's hard but the best advice we ever got is to not get ahead of it. Don't worry about six months from now, worry about next week or next couple of days. It's saved us a lot of heartache.

Anyway why do I make this phonethread? I'm mostly bored in a hospital on memorial day weekend and nothing will probably ship until Tues. I was just thinking do you guys think I could make gains on this formula and feeding pump. I don't know how long I will be on it. For some it is forever. But as long as the fitsutles connect to the tube and it heals I can even go swimming in 4 to 6 weeks. I would like to make some gains so if the cancer comes back I can kick its as through chemo again. It might be one of the only chances I have. I will be staying with my parents and they have a former planet fitness retrofitted into local gym I figure I may as well give it a try since I'm not working anymore. It probably won't be till around July till I can give it a go. But I have a lot of downtime most days as this pump is slow as frick. It injests like a toothpaste size every 5 seconds into your lower intestines. I can have the docs tweak the volume and rate based on caloric expenditure.

the tube n pump would get in the way of lifting properly, and a hole in your abdominal wall would also be an issue when lifting

Anon, you should get a glucose monitor. Enteral feeding could cause diabetes because of the constant stream of nutrition going into your body. Talk to your primary about it because that could frick you up (as if you needed more problems). Honestly if you have cancer, you should stop eating completely until the motherfricker is dead. Cancer is fueled by glucose.
Everyone I've ever met on tube feeding had the nastiest liquid shits. Get you some zinc oxide and start using it or your ass is going to be so frickin raw in a few days.
