someone mad that theyre getting mogged by an 18yo?.. do you snatch or clean and jerk? whats your total boy

                Anonymous

I'm not mad, it's just the skeleton is relatively light, so "dense bones" are not going to impact your weight that much.
                >whats your total boy
                240kg.

I mean it clearly can.. at 11yo i was weighing 85kg, alot more fat, obviously, but at a relativly lean 89-90ish kg bodyweight i would say that dense bones has something to do with it

nice 240 total, you compete at all??

unless its age or PEDs why not? seems like you would do alright, depends on ur bw cat tho

                its fun competing

I would be 89kg. I just haven't been bothered to yet, and I don't think I'm good enough for it to be worthwhile. Also, I would find it difficult to taper properly and prepare for a competition without a coach.

240kg total at 89 is good enough to get you to nationals in most countries, im guessing ur USA?

for sure worthwhile and tapering and prepping for comp without a coach is not hard at all man. just get the first comp done and dusted then aim for the national qualifying total and youre set bro

                Anonymous

                Qualifying total is 295.
I could compete at the U25, but I just don't think it's really worthwhile to spend the money, and make the trek. I just do it for fun, and I have other things to worry about these days.

depending on how many years youre lifting you could make that bro, why not shoot your shot?, you would at least
have an epic story to tell

i get the other shit to worry about man, but still i think youre more than good enough to give it a shot, what is there to lose??

imagine how big you would dream if you knew you couldnt fail... its possible.

I've been at it for about a year. I figure there's still plenty of time to worry about it I want to compete, but I don't have any plans to in the near future.
At the moment, it's at the point that if I want to improve more, I really need to increase my strength.

what does your squat programming/routine look like?? whats your jerk style and would you consider PEDs?

you need to remember everyone in this sport takes drugs, mainly Oral Steroids which arent as bad for you (usually, depends a lot tho)

if you did one or two cycles or oxandralone or turinabol you could most likely add a decent chunk onto your total and still keep the gains after coming off...

highly doubt you would be drug tested at all, even at nationals, although i would be careful at that level and beyond.

theres obviously harsher compunds that would definitely get you to the 295kg total but they come with their own risk of course... PCT after cycle would sort you out.... consider it. theres a door there, a cycle or two might open it for you

                >what does your squat programming/routine look like?
I don't follow a program. I do squats pretty much every day, and just do mix up between front/back squats and do whatever rep ranges I feel like that day.
                >whats your jerk style
                Split jerk
                >would you consider PEDs?
I would consider them if I manage a 175kg clean and jerk. Until then, I don't see a good reason to.

reason being that you catch up to the rest, kind of like a speed-up potion, and can then continue develop amonst your peers (who are stronger and more epic)

I'm just doing it for fun, dude. I'm not going to make money from it, even if I did take PEDs, so it just doesn't seem worthwhile.

if its not atg idc tbh

i can bottom up squat 210 from paralel/'full depth' from your standards. ATG is full depth in my eyes))

Parallel is not full depth. Some people literally don't have the physiology to go atg.

              >Parallel is not full depth
depends on proportions and how you squat. if your knees are far enough forward, you can sit on ankles while being barely parallel. many olympic weightlifters squat are not actually "deep" even though they are go as low as possible. and many more only go as low as they can maintain proper positions. too many newer lifters get so focused on "atg" they sacrifice position for depth and end up being stuck at baby weights.
