That's enough, right? I can finally close my eyes, place the order and know I will never need anything else, RIGHT?
>weight p-
No I'm not buying weight plates from fricking Rogue, let alone any sort of consoomer premium plates at all
It is already absurd enough that I'm buying all of this overpriced crap in hopes it lasts for 50 years
But for weight plates I'm buying the most generic and cheap but still reputable raw iron cast I can find, I'm also getting a much cheaper pair of adjustable dumbbells from somewhere else since I don't need them to be "premium" either
So how are your Home Gym plans going, IST?
DMT Has Friends For Me Shirt $21.68 |
Unless you live far from a gym, or all the gyms in your area are dog shit, id say join a real gym.
t. have got both
>600 bucks for a bench
don't do it
this, a bench that expensive with no decline is gay as frick
besides decline bench and abs, what other exercises?
There are cheaper places to get almost everything in your cart anon. The only Rogue product I ever recommend is the basic flat bench.
Dude are you really going to soe d 109 bucks on a hand grip and like 200 bucks for bags full of sand?!
Also the rings at 95 are absurd too, you can get a pair for 30 bucks easily.
Moreover buy your bench from marketplace or similar, great way to save hundreds of dollars.
The half rack looks overpriced too but if you wanna invest on it cause you know it's sturdy af then that's fine
Adjustable bench should have decline. switch the rower for a heavy bag, it saves a lot more space. Rack looks like shit for pull-ups. You also need stall mats if you intend to keep property value. Judging by your accessories I don’t think you are an advanced lifter. It is okay to get cheaper accessories off of Amazon. Only the metal is going to be considered an asset.
solid advice right there on the heavy bag
buying a sand bag is stupid when you can just use a heavy bag for both punching and carrying
would keep the rower though
Rack and its parts are legit good buy, would add a maybe shrimp trawler so you can hang a heavy bag (giga 300 IQ brain money saver: just pin a spotter arm up there instead to hang the bag, the spotter arm is sturdy as a diamond too and it's rarely gonna see real use if you're not egolifting anyway).
Barbell is a fine buy too, stainless steel is for gays.
Bench is plain STUPID, you can get similar quality for 1/2 the cost.
C2 rower is a no brainer, everyone should get one.
Coc set is debatable.
Fat gripz are debatable.
Sandbag is plain stupid, you can just carry a heavy bag as per suggestion.
Wood rings are plain stupid, for the same reason as bench, almost half the price is just branding here.
Basically, please remove the goddamn bench, sandbag and wood rings from that cart and you're good to go. I would remove the orange fat gripz and get the men coc instead of advanced coc for a more efficient generalist setup too.
I'm confused. isn't the hr2 rack sold by itself? why are you buying an sml2 and hr2 conversion? plus I'm sure it's cheaper
hahaha this homie paying a hundred bucks for grip trainers
you could get that for half the price jesus
I have $1000 or so worth of kettlebells, mats, resistance bands, and a basic b***h barbell and DBs.
It’d be nice to have a bench, pull-up bar, and all that. I am limited on space in my 1 car garage.
all you need is
- 2 dumbbell bars
- 1 curl bars
-1 yoga mat
- verity of weight plates
It's that simple anon.
pullup bar
don't have a door way to put it in and don't want to buy a whole station for it.
doorway pullup bars aren't an actual thing. that shit is garbage that falls off. you need a basement or garage for pullup bar or have one on a station like OP is buying
Just use the monkey bars at your local park.
i live near atlanta, my monkey bars are monkey bars
Buy the plates, every time you load your barbell you will be reminded your not a poorgay
They have a bench with a decline attachment.
They also have a set of plate-loadable dumbbells that are pretty nice. The cheapo CAP plates work fine on them.
Hit Tractor Supply or your local equivalent for stall mats. Consider still building a plywood platform for deadlifts unless youre also going to buy bumper plates.
my power rack cost 450€, bar+weights another 500€, adjustable bench was a cheap one on Amazon for like 80€
In heavy use for the past 2 years and no issues so far. You're just bad with money.
bingo, go with the amazon reality fitness brand, 800x or something. Its find and a 3rd the price rogue is a meme at this point.
>its fine
yeah its fine until the garbage chinese welds fail on you and you fall back while doing a lift or the leg breaks or something
dont comment on people buying sturdy, decades-lasting quality powdercoating shit when you're buying chinkshit. it is not "fine" it's garbage. it's just the garbage you can afford so you're proud of it for some reason
Oh and make sure you anchor that rack to the floor if youre going to use the dip attachment.
Until you can 3pl8 bench or 4pl8 squat this is all you need. Add a bench for 150, bar for 120 and pl8s
https://www.amazon.com/FITNESS-REALITY-810XLT-Super-Attachment
>fitness reality
that's a feel, cause i don't fitness reality
>$3,700
Even for my scam of a gym, that's 3 years of membership fees. You better use this shit.
>buying all of this overpriced crap in hopes it lasts for 50 years
it will, so long as you buy American welds. you will lift with your children, and they will inherit your equipment and gains
>cheap adj DBs
I got mine from Fringe Sport. only thing I don't like about them is they are 22" long, so some exercises are a nightmare, like Arnolds. but get the job done until I get a full set or iron masters
*Don't forget another set of collars
>SML & conversion
WHY ARE YOU BUYING BOTH SEPARATELY?! buy the HR2 as is and save money. and if you have the space, why not a full rack?
your set up is pretty much the same from when I started. you'll add on as time goes on
>anything else
Landmine, dip belt, curl bar, leg roller, bands/cable pulley
horse stall mats or a DIY platform
>home gym plans
the only thing I would have changed is buy monster instead of monster lite
Underrated giga based post, you made it, bro.
>you made it, bro
thanks bromigo
picrel is the best add on
imo half rack is a nice redpill more people should get into
smaller footprint and you can still do pretty much everything there, with arm safeties
only advantage of full rack are strap safeties, and the extra cost doesn't really justify it
for the most part the weight plates stored on them will keep it stable for 99% of stuff you do
and if you ever get strong enough to actually risk tipping them over, just anchoring them to the floor or a diy platform if you don't want to drill the floor should do the job
>imo half rack is a nice redpill more people should get into
collegiate style are kino
one of my favorite commercial racks is the hammer strength HR with built-in platform
What are the most important/fundamental exercises I can do with a 0/45/90 degree adjustable bench and just dumbbells? No bench press rack, no squat rack, none of that. I do have about 6 different weights of dumbbells
all the presses, dips, bulgarian split squats, rows, skull crushers, spider curls, flys, pull overs, french press, leg curl/ext
>french press
huh, i've never heard it called that. that's coffee
no real reason to do that with skullcrushers is there?
>no real reason
different strokes for different folks
although, I'm sure some autist will explain the minute differences
>the minute differences
different stabilizers for french press including both ventral and dorsal sides of the torso up and down the chain
Why are you buying all this shit, anon? You can go on facebook marketplace and get good shit for cheap, or just buy cheaper brand alternatives.
There's so much you can do you really don't need much else tbh.
has most that shit covered, for anything missing you can do a calisthenic for.
where is your IPF approved belt?
also, fat gripz are overrated
train grip directly, but dont subtract value from another exercise
>crunches
lmao, the rest is fine I guess. Forearm crunchers are a complete fricking meme. You are better off doing a wrist roller + pause deadlifts.
If you do not buy rogue everything in pic, besides rower, can be purchase for less than $1000. I have cage, adjustable bench, rings, adjustable dumbells, iron weights, bumper plates, and bar for around $600 - $700. If you want nice things that's good but the cheap stuff generally lasts just as long except for the bench and bar.
If you have the money go for it. Only recommendation would be a cable attachment.
Its going good, wish I got the monster instead of monster lite though.
every item here is overpriced. Fricking 100 bucks for a pair of rings? gtfo
You can get a C2 rower all day on OfferUp for way less that doesn't have too many meters on it. Also, go full rack if you have the space.
hey anon, don't purchase this yet if you haven't.
I've been on a $5k home gym spending spree for about 2 or 3 months and I have some tips. let me review your order and tell you what's up.
ok, here's my aforementioned advice. it will be more about the general approach and less about particular equipment, but I'll touch on both.
my first piece of advice is that if you are feeling this mad itch to just pull the trigger, like it's an addiction and there's too much excitement at play... just stop and slow down. whether it's to reconsider your equipment, ensure you aren't missing anything, whatever.
retailers and merchandisers use limited time sales to put you into this state where you can't calmly analyze whether you actually need the products. it is to their advantage. if you're in this state, just wait. wait for your emotions to settle down. 3 to 5 days isn't a long delay for a purchase this significant.
so, the main thing, I think, is, are you willing to wait for some of this stuff? because whatever your budget is, whatever your goals are, whatever equipment you want, realistically (for most people anyway) there is more or nicer stuff you could have.
so if you have, say, $5k to spend this year, you can spend 74% of it now on this. alternately, if you're patient, you can probably spend about 20% of it on 80% of the stuff listed on here, and then eventually grab some of the other stuff when you need to.
this is only really going to apply if you live in or close to a major metro area, or alternately if you commute to one occasionally at least, or are close enough to head over for deals. if that's not the case, maybe just scope deals one time at the largest metro area (even if it's quite a ways away), and jump on those, even if it's like an entire day to drive there and back. idk.
but anyway, to expose some of the deals I've received in the course of a couple months,
I bought that squat stand with two sets of J-Cups for $250. it is an excellent piece of equipment.
I also bought an Ohio Bar and a PoS Cap Barbell barbell for $150.
1/?
I guess I could go into more deals, but the deals do arise, and they feel so much better to take advantage of than paying Rogue all of their money for sponsoring events and sending free equipment to their golden boys. IDK. I freaking love their stuff though and bought a full-priced stainless steel OPB, so don't think I'm a purist on deal hunting.
certain stuff I didn't want to wait for, and that makes sense too.
so, figure out what you want to use immediately, and perhaps order that, then take your time to find deals on the other things you want or need.
another thing, if you do wind up going the opposite way on this and shelling out tons of cash, a few things.
you know there's a, buy a rack and shipping caps at $75 deal? also, the spend over $5k on equipment fulfilled at their main warehouse and there's no shipping deal?
either of those could be well worth it as I'm guessing the current shipping bill is approaching $500.
anyway, think carefully about all of the equipment you're buying. specifically fat gripz $70 into Fat Gripz seems questionable, unless you know that's what you'll work on.
seeing your grip focus, I would recommend cannonball and grandfather clock grips as well, for pullups, but also for use with loading pins.
one minor thing, do you need 4 pairs of storage horns? doesn't the conversion kit include 8 pair?
I would also likewise caution heavily against that bench. I paid $50 for the old school Rogue flat bench and it is beautiful. I can toss a plate under it here or there for a decline and I will take my sweet time figuring out the perfect FID bench for me.
buying the wrong bench for $120 hurts a lot less than $700.
good luck anon. let me know if you have any questions. I'll keep the thread open.
The irritating thing about /HGG/ threads are anons b***hing about money and how you should only buy used because their local market is saturated with equipment. I have island Black folk putting up ads asking for more than MSRP for rusted equipment, but "it's a steal because you don't have to pay shipping." Every now and then, someone puts up a reasonable offer, but most are still stuck in covid pricing or are "I know what I got, no low balling" boomers.
There are a lot of things worth buying second hand if they're available, or waiting for black friday deals or resolutioner NGMIs. But I'm not necessarily always going to wait around for a year to save 25-50% on an item that I want to be using now. And some things I'd rather pay full price and get the lifetime warranty that comes with it. Thanks for reading my blog.
tl;dr: not all used markets are equal. some things are worth retail price
1k for a rower? just do burpees or mountain climbers or jump rope instead unless u rich af ofc
BUY SECOND HAND
It's February, which means a frickton of NYRs who bought home gyms have now given up and are selling their shit.
Hit up facebook marketplace or craigslist.
Don't pay full price for this shit
Id swap the rower for assault bike, it's much nicer to use while watching stuff on an ipad and is not as gay about form, + it's better calorie burn and also work the push muscles in addition to the pull muscles where the rower only works pulling motion. also discard the captin crush it's meme do rolling stick for forearms and also get iron neck and you're gucci
