homegym max bench weight

i finally took the homegym pill but ran into an issue looking for a bench
the overwhelming majority of benches i see are rated at 200kg max capacity. however, i weight 70kg and my current PR is 130kg x 2
to make things clear my setup will have safety bars to catch it if i fall
so is the 200kg weight limit bullshit? like on a folding style small bench i get it, but on a solid one with legs it seems way too low

Static load is very different than dynamic load though. Just because it can hold 400 lbs in plates doesn't mean it can hold 400 lbs unevenly distributed and moving.

OP I don't know your financial situation or country but I'd strongly recommend shelling out enough money for a nice adjustable bench ($350ish for a rep bench in the USA is a great choice). Or I'd get a decent flat bench. Should be much cheaper...but dude it's totally not worth risking your safety on a shitty adjustable bench

You want a high quality fixed bench. I plan on buying this one when I start benching 2 plate.

This review says it has been tested with no issues at 1000 pound (455kg) and likely goes much higher.

I use a dogshit rack $100 and a standard barbell that was like $15 like you do know you can just use olympic plates on those right kek. I have put up to 400 pounds for my squat and 300 for my bench and no issues, yet is the key word so i doubt your pussy lifts would have any effect whatsoever

No op, but I lift with a walmart bench. It does not feel safe and the higher weight I go the more unsafe it feels. And I'm only doing a 155lb bench.

you know you can do that much weight without a rack right as well. I did up to 2 plates before I even got a rack it's also good to do that to practice in case you got a bail out. atleast you didn't go out and buy a high end rogue rack kek. You newbies always overcomplicate shit

I can tell you don't lift. I have attempted exactly what you are talking about. Laying flat on the ground and trying to lift. First your elbows hit the ground so you can't do a full rep. Second it is extremely hard to get the bar into a lifting position. You end up sitting up on the ground and pushing the bar on your legs and lifting it up. Totally limiting your weight and hurting your back. No way it can be done at 155 pounds unless you can curl more than that weight.

Be on the safe side, spend a tiny bit more and buy a sturdier setup.
If the thing says 200kg static limit, there's a good chance it's going to get absolutely fricked when you drop 160kg on it with any momentum.
It's just couple of hundred more spent to have a reliable setup for life.

op here, this is the bench im talking about, it says it can handle 200kg which if thats total weight including user is not enough for me
i just wanna know if its not something like "best eaten before/expiration date" thing where its lower than actual capacity just to stay out of potential legal trouble
the price is really good (im sort of on a budget) but not willing to sacrifice safety for lower price
im not an expert, do you guys think it can handle a 3plate bench?
