How can I deadlift without hurting my hands?
I know I can lift heavier despite being a beginner at the gym but I developed these calluses on my palms that open up really easily whenever I try to deadlift. I dunno if its because if I have small feminine hands (my ex especially loved telling me this whenever we held hands).

shave them down with a nail file whenever they get too big, and if your grip is too weak strengthen it, there's a million videos about this on youtube.
it's not his callouses, it is his grip approach that is slicing his callouses off his hand when he pulls something heavy, like on deadlift.
sad news is he'll probably struggle to relearn grabbing the bar and thus refuse to change and thus never lift anything heavier than what he is currently at.

Grip improvement and gloves.
Hand strength might need to catch up.
Read the starting strength section on deadlift grip.
Mixed overhand/underhand grip is how i initially got over it, still made me feel uncomfortable thinking of bicep tears so i then just improved grip strength/got gloves/used chalk.
