I didn't mention feelings. I'm not even hating, I occasionally do a similar workout with a cast iron dumbbell with all the plates on one side. I just haven't seen you progress and doing this workout for it's own sake doesn't make sense. Actual swords don't even have such weight distribution and handling dynamics of a barbell, you're just larping. With a bit of a change in you training you could make sick progress

You’re not really “swinging something like a sword” if you’re just letting momentum spin you around and you’re not in control
You need to look up some actual sword/polearm techniques, plant your feet in the ground, and do some controlled movements with it
Spinning in a circle holding weight isn’t going to do much

This. Nobody taught you how to crawl, how to walk, how to run.

            >Any tips for starting off?
It takes weeks to heal muscles.
It takes months to heal bones and tendons.
You are going to need to grow some new bones and tendons to surive this.
Throw in a better heart to handle the cardio load.
Start of stationary, both legs and arms.
If you cannot hold it stationary, the difficulty is too great, adjust.
Once that is achieved on all different points.
Start moving arms through different planes of motion in a steady manner with no momentum.
Once that is achieved, start adding momentum and speed with the same motions.
Once that is achieved, and you feel stable and strong doing that. Start adding leg movement. Step forward, step backward, step left, and right.
I'm hoping you see the pattern here.
Starting off I suggest limiting this training to once per week and no more.

Well, looks like it definitely works to grow the obliques. He does say in the video that big obliques aren't as sexy but they really give power and balance to the core, and personally I think I like the look. I myself have a small waist naturally, with a narrow pelvis, and I don't work core much outside of abdonimals, I have decently developed serratus thanks to my high ape index but my obliques aren't developed at all. I might give these a try and develop my obliques cuz I think a developed core like that looks pretty cool.

Maybe. Obviously I wouldn't train it with one rep sets, I'd lower the weight and do 3 or 4 sets of 8-12 or something like that.
But I do think his core looks cool, he's obviously quite lean but the big obliques give an aesthetic that I like.

I've tried this lift a few times. It's shit. Your quads take over (as they would in a trap bar style DL) and it just feels like a weak quad movement. I felt nothing in my core. If you're going heavy enough to do something with barbell suitcase deadlifts it becomes more of a balancing act where you're trying to complete the rep as quickly as possible before the bar tilts to one side. Twisting knee raises with straps to help you grip the bar (inb4 muh grip, you're going to want to be hanging from the bar for a while) will actually hit your obliques hard.
