How do I cut without losing my gains?
I've pretty much always been between 15%-20% and I struggle to get below that.
I get to the point where my upper and become visible but I always have that small layer of fat on my belly.

High protein, expect to lose a bit of strength but ultimately you will look more muscular. because you're more defined

How high is high in terms of grams per lbm?
0.6-0.8g per lb
I am doing 1.5 g per lb. I am barely hungry and I look lean.
This is good advice. Personally, I find it easier to hit 1g/lb of lean body mass and sometimes end up hitting my bodyweight. Down about 12 pounds/2%bf according to my handscanner in 2 months. Not the fastest cut but probably why I've been able to actually add 1-2 reps per exercise instead of losing strength. Love handles are shrinking and abs are starting to show a bit. The hardest part is patience, especially because you probably won't see a difference day to day. It helps to have a gf or someone else who sees your body on a regular basis to motivate you. My fiancée points out new cuts on my arms and abs as they show up.

nice progress but that's at a bf% where cutting is easy. don't expect to keep adding reps when you start hitting the wall at lower %
I'm at about 13% right now. Just have fricked fat distribution from a few years of alcohol abuse. For example, I have adonis lines despite the love handles and a fatty lower stomach. It definitely hasn't been easy.

Damn, I thought a had a more recent one, but right side is from about a month ago so probably 14%+ bf. Left is from just under a year ago when I was in fatfrick mode. Left the chin to make it easier for you guys to gauge bf% lol. Gonna update a photo for myself after my workout today and will post if the thread is still up.

I rely on it mostly for tracking loss. Honestly don't believe it's accurate. Told me I was 18% on the left pic lol. I think it's gotten better as I've gotten leaner but who knows. What do you think my bf is in right pic?

News flash: u werent as big as u were and u hols a lot less lean muscle mass which is why u think u ”lose all ur gains”

High protein and continue to work out at a reduced intensity. You'll still lose muscle, but you don't actually lose muscle. The cells shrink, but they're still there. You'll gain back whatever you lost much faster than it took to build them in the first place. Also don't fast, just eat at a deficit. I suggest drinking a lot of milk. Casein is a slow digesting protein and will keep your muscles fed for hours. Avoid anything catabolic.

You're going to lose some muscle no matter what unless you're on drugs.
All you can do is keep lifting and get shitloads of protein - more than you would if you were bulking. Doing that will help maintain as much muscle as possible.
