Even though I'm doing ok now, I was at similar levels of fricked up when I was his age. Which is why I have a little bit of hope. However, I never got into drugs so my motivation to succeed stayed intact. It was just that my parents fricked me over at every turn until I was 18 and could leave.

Ended up speed-running highschool at the local community college when I was 18 and then got into uni.
