He was a fairly well known fitness model/bodybuilder. He had a photoshoot or was filming a movie or some shit on an active railway and accidentally got run over by a train
>Plitt was struck and killed by a southbound Metrolink Antelope Valley Line train 268, led by Metrolink MP36PH-3C locomotive no. 888 in Burbank, California, on January 17, 2015, while running between the rails. The entire incident resulting in his death was recorded by an onboard event recorder camera mounted in the cab of the lead locomotive.[7][8] After examining the video, police reportedly told TMZ Plitt may have been trying to outrace the train when it approached for a video he was shooting. He was shortly after knocked off the tracks and out of frame.[9] He may have believed the train was coming up behind him on a parallel track, not the one he was on.[10] The video was for a self-produced energy drink commercial.[11]
Why do people not just do dumbell press instead?
It's less likely to hurt you if they fall or hurt you less, and you can just throw them away from you.
For people like this dude: ego. For people who actually are good at bench press, dumbbells just aren’t the same thing. Can’t hit the same weight to get the same effect. I did my working sets at 275 today. What would I have done with dumbbells that was equivalent? Do 137.5lbs per side? I wouldn’t be able to balance one each side and the dumbbells that size are too cumbersome to press, if you’re even at a gym that has them that heavy.
The chance of you injuring yourself using dumbbells is probably 10x using a barbell. good luck just letting the weight fall without ripping your shoulder joint straight through the socket if you are going heavy and hard enough.
Dude dumbbells fricking suck for anything that isnt basically rehab to fix muscular imbalances. They have to be a meme created by gaylords who just have to be at the gym imcredibly often so they get all the barbells.
You have to be exceptionally moronic to have a nice day with bench pressing, I genuinely believe it's just speeding up the inevitable and the person in question would be dead from some other dumb shit like a DUI car crash within a few years anyways. It's for the better, really, at least no one else was endangered by their stupidity.
Literally all you need to not fricking die from a bench press is >don't suicide grip >don't egolift >if you do egolift or want to attempt a PR, do it without collars and without a moronic arch >if you do fail, accept it and calmly bring the barbell to your chest instead of towards your neck trying to re-rack even though youl iterally can't move it up >at this point you can just tilt the barbell to one of the sides to let the weights fall off >or, if you do have collars on for some reason or it's just your preferance, do the roll of shame >if all fails (it shouldn't) just scream for help if in a public gym >practice all of this at least once or twice under controlled conditions so you know what to do when it happens
This is basic common sense. You should have figured that out by yourself if your IQ is in triple digits. You need to frick up several times before bench pressing even becomes a potential danger.
This.
You just put the barbell on your lower chest, roll it to your hips and hip thrust it while holding it to gently put it on the floor. Or just hip thrust it so hard it destroys half of the gym. Your life is more valuable than dying to a moronic failed ego lift
If you need a spotter and/or safeties to not have a nice day bench pressing, you're a double digit moron I was talking about, sorry. Neither is necessary to be safe, they're just conveniences.
I just do an eccentric on the last rep if I have no spotter and roll it down to my waist, then do a sort of awkward curl to get it back on the rack. so easy.
>just scream for help >practice under controlled conditions
So I should scream for help and then when someone shows up tell them it was just a prank? > without a moronic arch
What’s wrong with an arch doesn’t it protect your shoulders?
Is he planking ?
When you nut but she still suckin
You need to TRAIN harder.
He unironically had one of the most aesthetic physiques I have ever seen. Shame his entire legacy is nothing more than train memes now

Roll of shame helps me regularly lift to failure and i have noticed a significant increase of gains.
