How do I increase punching power and how do I know If I have? My worst nightmare is getting into a fight and hitting someone and it not doing jack shit.

No, your nightmare is you get into a fight and try to punch someone because you think it's "cool" and you break your hand because that's what happens when you punch something hard like a bone. Or you only learned to punch and not guard so you get clocked before you even have your fists clenched
Stop looking for "hacks" and go take martial arts
i regularly punch brick walls to build bone strength + 2g calcium per day. some chinlet homosexual isnt going to break my hand
>and you break your hand because that's what happens when you punch something hard like a bone
That literally doesn't happen unless you are exclusively training in big boxing gloves.
Both wrist curls helped my wrist not break as often when 100%ing. Now I wanna see if putting weights in the gloves or something can give me a hadouken jab.
First thing you need to do is cut out carbs. Less than 10g a day. Preferably 0 starting out. Then, and this is the key where everyone fricks up, you need to MASSIVELY increase your fat intake. High protein is not what you want. There are numerous studies showing how ketosis improves punching power. No I won’t be citing them.
You are worthless then.
work on doing more explosive moments when you work out
what like diarrhea?
exactly
Thought I'd have to elaborate but you got it first time.
YGMI
Not op but I'm on the toilet suffering from flu diarrhea
Ahhhhhhhh
damn next goldengloves champion over here
>punch
never punch anyone
you should elbow and knee people
elbow first, then clinch, then knee
preferably, you never get to that situation, and if at an altercation, you pull out a gun or knife to basically end any confrontation
also, if you want to punch people, it's best to do it from behind, by surprise
>elbow and kneel only
Basic understanding of footwork will get you knocked out by a kick or punch.
You don't need a strong punch to knock someone out, you need to land it properly.
A 5'7 140lbs manlet can knockout a 6'0 220 lbs gorillam IF he lands a good punch.
You gotta remember some people really can take a punch though, and relying on a headpunch is a good way to get steamrolled by a tall opponent. You kinda need 4+ pl8s on the bench for reps to frick someone up with a body shot assuming good technique because a lot of big guys suck at fighting and you'd have to be a behemoth vs a normal person to hit someone with a bodyshot with no wind up.
Train on a boxing bag
Go to a boxing class, spar with someone
That's how the oldtimers did it
Foreman used to just hit a bag over and over and over again.
And he hit like a truck because he wasn't used to pulling punches for 30 mins a day.
punching power comes from the legs so start there
Considering there are many professional boxers who train how to punch for years and still don't have knockout power, there really is only so much you can do. If you don't have God-given heeming ability, you will have to rely on combinations to get the job done.
They don't have knockout power against other pros who know how to move around and how to minimize power. The guys you are thinking of could knock out any normal person in 10 secs
>and how do I know If I have?
Get a friend to hold the bag for you, if he feels your punches through the bag (can be painful), it's all good. Like, look at Foreman hitting the heavy bag and the poor lil Black person holding it for him.
Basically use the heavy bag as a body protector.
Bench, incline, lots of ohp and delt flies, arms forearms and wrists, volume at high weight and speed reps. Gotta have the shoulders and arms for power at full extension.
That and obviously legs cleans dl core, train hard then fast then combos. Lots of power is lost in looking at the opponent even close, poor timed rotation amd leg drive, not throwing your body and having the footwork to slide and pivot to use all your weight. Don't stand too straight unless you're trying to Muhammed Ali jab. Learn to really go through the bag and footwork has to be second nature so practice one punch at a time as hard as you can first, going too slow or hitting lightly will frick up your form.
Moat underrated shit is forearms, upper abs/ serratus, hams, tenderloins, obliques.
>can feel stinging in my middle finger's knuckle when throwing power hooks on the heavy bag/water bag
I'm wearing 16oz twins gloves and wrap with fairtex wraps. Is this typical?
Moat people twist their wrist too much trying to hit the 2 big knuckles. Especially for hooks you have to focus on keeping your shit stabilized first and foremost, almost like you're hitting with the middle knuckle first and the whole hand.
Might be overpronation, and trying to twist your palms between palm down and palm sideways. Your forearm has to be behind your fist in a straight line. Do a bunch of wrist work like forearm curls, arms moving your wrist with it, and lits of heavy normal grip dls rows and pull-ups.
